I was really beginning to love the Monday night lineup. Heros is interesting with it's plot twists, but after the kids were in bed we watched Studio 60. Not interested in punk young men killing one another.
At a time when nearly all television shows are mediocre at best, Studio 60 is truly outstanding. Its brilliant writing and superb acting are miles ahead of its nearest competition. So it's almost too easy to point out that canceling it ASAP is exactly what the fictional board at NBS would try to do. I would add, though, that not only is it sad artistically when a show like this is canceled, it's also generally a short-sighted move economically. How many DVD's has The West Wing sold to date?
My love for Mr. Sorkin's witty banter and intellectual humor stated back with A Few Good Men. His hit show West Wing won my heart with the episode "Noel". Deeply saddened when West Wing ended I never thought anything could compare... then... there was Studio 60. I still refuse to delete "The Christmas Show" off my Tivo. Shows like Studio 60 are true jems!
Another bloody mob story may sell, but what about diversity? What about a smart show with a lot of potential?!! I'm no Sorkin loyalist, or even a big TV watcher, but this show sucked me in. Take a risk NBC... give it a chance.
Keep this show, it is one of the few smartly written shows on television. We need more shows like it, not mindless dumbing of america shows. Please try to keep the bar from sinking so quickly.

great QUICK dialogue that maybe not the average "Heroes" fan could follow. Keeping up with quick diaologue is/was a nice use of mental power at 10pm. Made for a great Monday of TV. I entirely agree with post #6952.
I don't know who will see this but if it is anyone with any pull at NBC please reconsider what you are doing.
This show is funny, smart and quick. I love it. It is a show that has to be watched closely. You have to pay attention to the dialog and acting. It is a show that makes you want to watch, not just some stupid show that uses the same old jokes over and over again. This show is written very well and needs to stay around. Move it to a new time slot if need be but don't take it off the air.
I am not a memeber of the Nielson ratings but I will not watch NBC during this slot if 60 isn't on. Please don't add it to the list of bad decisions.
Please don't cancel Studio 60. I'm not a regular television-watcher--in fact, I'd rather read books--but this show brought me back to NBC, which really had killed my interest in its programming when it chose sensationalism (read blood and gore) in ER and a marked preference for reality television.
Studio 60 is the wittiest, most intelligent show out there on television. Please don't kill the pleasure of TV for those of us who like smart and intelligent programming!!!
KEEP Studio 60!!
Again? Don't you dunderheads ever learn? Once again, the dumming down of the American television viewer. We are smart. We get the jokes without you telling us that it is funny. We like entertainment that makes us think. Just how stupid do you really think we are anyway?
PLEASE DONT CANCEL STUDIO!! THERE ARE HARDLY ANY SHOWS OUT THERE WITH GREAT DIALOGUE LIKE THIS. PAHRUMP, NEVADA AND TOM DRESSED AS JESUS... YOU DONT SEE WITTY HUMOR LIKE THAT ANYWHERE. NBC CANT AFFORD TO LOSE SUCH A GREAT SHOW.
After watching the first 30 minutes of the Black Dumbies, it should not even be any question ! !
I'm part Irish and am offended with the portrals. Why would stupid brutality be popular?
My favorite hour on TV. You'd be foolish to cancel this show. And replace it with what? Another sci-fi, doctor, lawyer, shoot-em-up show? Give me a break. Give the show a break. Keep this show on.
Just watched the Black Donelly's. All I can say is, NBC deserves to stay in the ratings basement. I could pick more hits with a dartboard.
Studio 60 is the best writing on TV, so of course they cancel it!
Studio 60 is a really good show. Its quick & funny. An acutal good show for adults to watch, no more of this teenie bopper stuff. Give it a chance, promote it more and get a following.
Hey! Where's Studio 60? I set my schedule by it. Just because the NBC brass is afraid of GE it does not mean smart people don't watch it. People with lots of money to buy products and services.
Be brave, be courageous, stand up to your General Electric Military War owner profiteers.
Please.... in the name of all things holy, NBC, keep this show on. I stay extremely busy throughout the week but I always make time for this show. It represents everything I could ask for in show. Please, please, please keep it on.
This show is amazing. It's intelligent funny, which, unfortunately, turns a lot of Americans off. The show is so not about what goes on behind the scenes of a skit show, it's about the interactions between people, and they are fabulous people. It's also not about Sorkin, he's not even remotely a reason I watch. I could watch every episode again and again. At least give us the courtesy of finishing out and wrapping up the season. And, if it doesn't come back for a second season, please put out season one on DVD. Don't cancel this show!
The replacement show sucked!! Don't bother watching it on the West Coast. Waste of time. NBC is again trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Studio 60 needs to bite NBC on the ass but evidently they don't know a good show even if it bites them on the ass!! Boycott NBC!!!!!!
This is a show that's had growing pains, but it's one of the smartest, funniest, most human shows on television. It's the only show I've ever sought out on the web to see an episode I missed, or to see an episode a second time (which is often).
So my my message to NBC is - give this show time to find its groove. I think maybe it's been more complicated a show to write than Aaron Sorkin thought it was, but he's on the right track and the guy is enough of a genius to figure it out. Make that investment of trust and you'll end up with another multi-year franchise like West Wing was. That's what I think, at least, and I'm one of those high value viewers you seem to want to court. It seriously is one of the best shows on television, warts and all!
Studio 60 is one of the best shows on television - period!
If however you are intent on cancelling the show please, PLEASE, release the remaining episodes on the web. I want to see how things go and I believe the viewers of the show deserve to see the end of the season.
Thank you.
The fact that Studio 60 wasn't on tonight has ruined my Monday routine. From the start of Heroes at 8 PM until 10 PM for the ending of Studio 60, my TV was tuned in to NBC. I didn't even surf during commercials! I'll still watch Heroes, but otherwise I'm enacting a personal boycott of NBC until they put this show back on.
This is one of the best shows created in the last few years!! Some of your VERY loyal viewers have to download it in order to see it (stuck in Australia) but can't wait every week to get the next episode! Please please please don't cancel a show which is intelligent as well as funny, well acted, and well produced. If only more television was as clever as this show...
Studio 60 is my favorite show on TV. I watch every episode religiously, many times twice, and I must say NBC has done a terrible job reaching this show out to a broad customer base (Sorken's shows are all about character development)...if NBC cannot make this show work they will lose points in my heart.
Half a season is not enough of a chance for this show. It's smart. It's funny. It has a pace that has me grateful for commercials just so I can take a breath. I always DVR it just so I can watch shows over and over. Cancelling now would be a mistake. Be better than an "instant gratification" network. Please...don't make it all doom, gloom, idiocy, and reality tv.
If you cancel Studio 60, You'll be giving in to pop culture and the overall decline in Intelligence of the free world. Don't do it. America itself is giving in to the Retardation of this nations youth. Don't hop on the bandwagon so soon. They have a chance, but you have to give it to them.
Come on, at least give me a few seasons of this show. Its been great so far. Not until this show aired did I fall in love with dreaded Mondays. Not even Monday night football can do that (which NBC moved on us). Hey NBC, you'ld have better ratings if you knew how keep an audience. You've got great shows, but at all the wrong times! Get a clue.
Thank God I'm part of a Nielsen household, because we know ratings are all the networks care about. I'm boycotting NBC until Studio 60 is renewed. If enough of us do this, then maybe they will take notice.
DO NOT CANCELL studio 60!!!! I love this show. It has some of the best writting on a show I have ever seen, I cant help it if some people cant understand some of the humor. IT IS A GREAT SHOW. CHANGE TIME SLOT DONT CANELL SHOW!!!!!!!! PLEASE
The best show to grace television for a long time. Amazing writing, awesome timing... let Sorkin do what he does best... this show was perfect, even before u put the romance angle into it... PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!
Your network disappointed me when you decided to quit on a show that actually was interesting. Heroes is a good show but Studio 60 can be a great show.
