Studio 60 is not only the best NEW show on this year, it is THE best show on television period. Please do not cancel such an innovative and thought provoking series.
There are so few TV shows that I watch with so much interest. I can think of more to cancel than to save. This show ranks in the save category for me. Please do not cancel.
It makes me sad to think that NBC would cancel such a smart, witty, can't wait to see what happens next show. What are we, those with a brain, supposed to do now? I have stopped watching NBC since Friends, Frasier, Seinfeld have all gone... was thrilled to see this show, mainly due to my interest in Matthew Perry and knowing that he was not just "Chandler". But I fell in love with all the actors, Bradley Whitford, Amanda Peet, Sarah Paulson. Let the rest of the season air. Give it a chance. Don't give in to the reality TV crap you think we, the viewers, want. We do not always want to watch other people win or not win $`1,000,000. We want to take a break from reality and enjoy the show.
After cancelling Whoopi and Happy Family, if NBC cancels Studio 60 I will not turn to their network anymore for my entertainment enjoyment. Everytime they get me hooked on a show they cancel it. Obviously I am not the type of viewer NBC desires.
The worst part of all this is that Studio 60 fufilled it's own prophesy. Dumbed down America didn't get the intelligent writing at the beginning, so to compensate they focus on the love angle, which made the show less enjoyable for the rest of us who were in fact watching it for the intelligent writing. The ratings drop again and the show's cancelled. THERE IS NO HOPE FOR ANY OF US - SMASH YOUR TV - REGAIN YOUR LIFE!
Why do we underestimate the intelligence and taste of average TV watchers in America? Do you really think that shows with the mindlessness of "Wife Swap" will effectively replace the quality of writing and talented acting we've come to expect from "Studio 60"? I think not. NBC execs: you do NOT give your viewers much credit if you think all we want to see is crappy reality TV, and just crappy TV in general. Don't insult our intelligence -- we like using our brains to watch TV and get sucked out of our own lives for an hour. Please don't take away our brain food...if you must, move it to another night and/or channel. It is the only show where I begin anticipating the next episode as soon as the one for that week has just gone to the end credits...
Please do not cancel this show....it is one of the best I have seen in a long time. The writing and characters are smart, funny, and enjoyable.....Please Please Please do not cancel this show!
Studio 60 is smart, creative television that challenges the viewer to THINK. Do not let the pressures of modern broadcasting destroy the best drama on TV, or as Wes Mendell said in the pilot, "... You are letting them win..."
It's too bad some of the smartest writing on TV is being removed. What is worse is the fact that the American public doesn't have the attention span to enjoy this show...they prefer "reality" shows to this caliber of writing. Maybe this show would have been a better fit for HBO. Or maybe there should be a better way to guage ratings than the Neilson "box."
The ONLY show I watch on NBC - one of the only shows in all TV-dom that gives viewers credit for having the required pulse and remote, but a brain as well. Please don't cancel!
I can't express how disappointed my household was when we heard that NBC might pull Studio 60. Please keep this gem on - it's tough finding good, intelligent shows. Remember that West Wing had lower ratings at first.
Please don't take it away from me! This and Heroes are the ONLY two shows in YEARS that I've been faithful to. I haven't found anything that I liked half as much since will & grace/frasier/friends all ended.
How could you consider cancelling a quality show like this, yet leave drivel like 30 Rock on the air! You were smart enough to run a marathon on Bravo and garner more viewers, so be smarter and keep the show on!
Great show. I am disappointed that NBC cant respect us enough to at least resolve the story lines. I will not be watching the Black Donnelly's. I saw the episode last night. Not interested. Monday night was my favorite night to watch TV NBC. I still have Heroes, but I might as well go to seep after that. Thanks for nothing.
PLEASE PLEASE don't cancel the show! Studio 60 is pure quality and deserves at least a season and a half so others can catch on to its excellent, fast paced writing!
Much like Firefly, this is a great series with great writing, intelligent parlaying, and has seen its downfall due to the lack of interest on the part of the TV network.
The issue is that Networks are looking for ratings right out of the gate these days, with many revolving door series out there and always more to produce. There can only be so many big winners, but that doesn't mean that intelligent shows that don't focus on sex, violence, or fantastical elements can't hold their own.
The worst part is that the replacement show is much worse and extremely contrived in its methods and storytelling.
This is the ONLY t.v. show that I watch and look forward to every week. The fact that it is going to be cancelled is very sad. I love Matthew Perry and Amanda Peet as well as the rest of the cast. The storylines were entertaining and the writing was terrific. The best part of the whole show is it's witty dialogue. For what it's worth I really enjoyed the show and will miss it!
This is a great show with excellent writing. It should stay on TV as it is fresh and different! Don't kill it just because it is different from all the other crap on TV, celebrate it!
There's an episode of Studio 60, where Danny says that a show is too good for NBS, and should be put on HBO instead. Studio 60 is TOO GOOD for NBC - Put it on a network that will appreciate it, and it's viewers.
Studio 60 was a great drama and a great comedy. There are so many places to go with the characters. Please consider the future story lines that are possible. There is so much that can be done with this show, don't just cancel it with out any goodbye.
If Studio 60 is cancelled, I will no longer watch anything else on NBC.
They have few great drama shows to begin with and to get rid of even one of them will be very sad.
Using the ratings drop from Heroes to S60 is a very bad metric to determine this shows appeal.
Regardless, I think this show is too highbrow for NBC or most other networks. My hope is that HBO picks it up.
PLEASE DON'T CANCEL THIS SHOW, it's the best show on TV bar none, even better than Heroes and that stupid sucky show Friday Night Lights, cancel that show not Studio 60.
I've seen bits and pieces of Studio 60 and I can't wait for the show to be sold to a TV-station in the Netherlands! One season is not enough, remember Seinfeld? Remember Friends?
If America isn't able to appreciate this awesome show, release it in the UK where it'll find an intelligent audience. At LEAST have the decency to finish the series, then when you release the box-set on DVD, you'll see the sales you're looking for.
Studio 60 is going to be another Family Guy... mark my words.
We love Studio 60. I loved Sports Night. Any TV show that is literate and thought-provoking should remain on the air. The demographics alone should tell you that this show is worth the watch.
Studio 60 was one of the few shows that I went out of my way to see, despite its growing pains. Cancelling Studio 60 means two things for me: there's one less well-written show on tv and one more good reason for me to read a book.
I'm of Irish descent and I love NYC, but I have zero desire to watch yet another show which centers around violence. This doesn't mean that I don't enjoy a good crime-related show, but how many do there have to be?
Whatever happened to choice?
When are studios going to realize that maybe it's a bad idea to drive away everyone older than 25 years, even if we're not the #1 demographic?
Studio 60 is the most sharply written show on television today. The dialogue and interplay between the characters is genious. Cancelling this show will alienate those of us who prefer programming with some depth and intellegence. Earl and Office are mindless fun -- Studio 60 is solid entertainment.
Don't pull Studio 60, you'll only be proving the message of the first few minutes of the pilot, that TV has sunk to the lowest common denominator programming. We deserve better. We deserve this show. Please move it rather than cancel it, and if you must cancel, MAKE THE REST OF THE EPISODES AVAILABLE ONLINE. Thank you.
I was a bit dubious about the setting of the show but after seeing the first couple of episodes I was hooked. Sorkin's snappy and witty dialogue makes for an enjoyable hours viewing. SAVE S60!
creatively, "studio 60" outranks nearly every other programming hour now on offer, certainly at the peacock network. and the audience demographics for "studio 60" ought to be a madison avenue adman's dream: literate; those both financially secure and aspirational; generation y-ers, and boomers. if nbc's ad sales department can't pitch this show, they should be put on hiaitus, not sorkin and his top-tier dramedy.
This is one of only 2 network TV shows that I watch every week. I think the issues being explored are stimulating and important. If it's canceled, NBC will be off my list. No, I didn't even watch the replacement show last night, I picked up a book instead.
Please do not cancel this show. It is smart and funny and has nothing to do with death or crime. It is refreshing to watch a show where there won't be a dead body some where in it. Again Please keep this show on the air.
Yes! I love Studio 60. The fact that Jordan McDeere blatantly stated this controversy on the show is interesting. SHe fought for an intelligent show about the UN against advice from lots of people. There is a market for shows like this that don't get off on months of Anna Nicole re-hash. Please keep this show on the air somewhere. It is worth it to try to turn the tide of idoit programming.
