Please give this show a chance. I know people who don't watch great shows like this anymore because they are tired of getting attached to something only to have it dropped just as it's getting really interesting. Now I see what they were talking about. It was such a letdown last night to have it gone with no warning. Believe me, I didn't watch the Black Donnelys. Once burned, twice shy.
This is by far one of my favorite new shows this season. It is so well written and acting is awesome. Please do not deprive me of my weekly dose of Matt Perry.
Jeff Zucker, President & CEO of NBC, WAKE UP your executives!!!
What do you get when you cross pandering programmers with the lowest common denominator of public opinion? Crackpot programming such as, “The Biggest Loser,” which in the end NBC is where you’ll find your ratings and ad buys. Hey I know NBC, why not call Letterman (Oh that’s right, he was another of those crackerjack decisions made by the geniuses running programming.) Oh well, lose Studio 60 and NBC will stand for the remainder of your line up, “Nothing But Crap.” I know, you can always go with your innovative creative counterparts and clone yet another Law and Order series in place of Studio 60.
Please don't cancel this show! Give it some time and you will be surprised--I predict it will take off like wildfire, given the right time slot and promotion.
Thanks for listening!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Give this show another chance in a new time slot. The world needs an cleverly written, mature (well, sometimes)and most importantly, NON-CSI-related series to stay on the air. I BEG YOU!!!
I watch or tape 'Studio 60' every week. Please keep it on the air. Demonstrate to all that North America is intelligent and our television viewing reflects our people.
This needs to stay on the air. It isn't fair to the actors, producers, writers, and crew that NBC didn't promote this show like they should have. Heroes is a definate win yet they promoted the hell out of it for no reason. Waste of money imo. Take it to another night or something just don't let an amazing show like this die...it would be too much of a loss.....please NBC, come to your senses!!!!!!!!!
You can't cancel this show because if it goes in America people in the UK won't even get to see it! Give it a chance and stop worrying about stupid ratings for once!
This is a great show - good writing, good acting, good everything. Please don't take one of the few shows off the air that you have to watch every second of or else you get lost. This is a GREAT show!
I love this show, except I would like less vulgarity and less Christian Bashing, thank you. I didn't
Please don't always go with the lowest common denominator. Let's have more shows with complexity and LOL humour!
This cancellation would probably be the last straw forcing me to finally pull the plug on my cable T.V., which I have only kept for such gems as W.Wing and 60.
After West Wing left there is just nothing on that is interesting and compelling the way this show is, even if I don't always agree with it.
Studio 60 is one of the only shows that sparks interest getting into the business side of television because there is the place one can make a difference.
"West Wing," if I recall, wasn't a ratings bonanza during the first season. It took time to build an audience. Ditto Seinfeld. There are a lot of intelligent, articulate people who don't watch TV regularly because they usually find programming that insults their intelligence. It takes time to build an audience for a show like this. The initial buzz and the critical acclaim bring in the first wave. But that's just the foundation. The rest will come. But if you don't show enough confidence in the shows you buy to schedule them consistently and to promote them consistently, why are you surprised when your audience is inconsistent and doesn't build consistently? Some shows you quickly realize have no audience, and economically it makes no sense to leave them on the air. I understand that. Some shows are on the bubble and need to be nurtured. I believe Studio 60 is such a show, and hope you will give it a fair opportunity to build its audience before pulling the plug.
Studio 60 is one of the most intelligent shows on television with smart, realistic characters and a charming storyline. PLEASE do not do exactly what the executives in the show were planning to do. You have a right to make quality television, not some moneymaking crap show.
Nobody writes better television than Aaron Sorkin. Great shows with great characters take time to build an audience. NBC management used to know that - otherwise Seinfeld wouldn't have made it to year 2. Ratings success sometimes requires patience on the part of network execs.
Keep this show on!! It is a great show. On S60, Jordan has been working to raise the bar in regard to programming (turning down dumb reality shows and shows with too much violence in favor of shows that comment on politics and life). NBC should pay attention and do the same. I didn't watch TBD, and have no intention to-- we don't need more violence on TV. RAISE THE BAR!!!!!!! Don't write for the lowest common denominator. SAVE S60!!!! (You just might save the world too).
I don't understand why you want to cancel this show. It's one of the few offerings of intelligence on network television. I'd gladly take Studio 60 over any of the following: 1 vs. 100, America's Got Talent, Andy Barker P.I., The Apprentice, The Biggest Loser, ER, Grease, Identity and any of the FOUR Law & Orders. When are you network nitwits gonna stop pandering to the lowest common denominator?
Studio 60 is a great show with sophisticated humor in the style of West Wing. Listen to your public and don't cancel the show. Don't waste such a great collection of talent!! Work with it. If you don't like the ratings-- improve them!!!! Add new writers, promote the show better, try a different time. It's a wonderful show that should be kept on.
Studio 60 is one of the few shows on NBC that I actually watch. It's funny and thought provoking. C'mon NBC, bring it back. If you're afraid of the over-hyped, over-acted CSI Miami, move it to another night (Tuesday?).
I looked forward to Monday night to catch the next episode. I enjoyed the humor as well as the cast of characters. Please give us the remaining shows to view.
I love Studio 60 and hope that NBC decides to continue airing the program. It isn't everyday you get to see a show of this magnitude. It is filled with drama, comedy, romance, what more could you want??? I look forward each week to see what will happen next with Matt and Harriet and Danny and Jordan. I was very disappointed last night after watching the first 15 minutes of The Black Donellys, just doesn't measure up to Studio 60!!!!!
You need to give a show like this some time to develop...remember that West Wing, your biggest drama for over 6 years, was well into its second season before the rating started to catch up...give them one more season and concentrate on canning the reality trash you broadcast instead.
I think that this is one of the best shows that NBC has! I watch a lot of TV .. I tape more things then I can watch in the course of one day but I always make sure I dont miss S60. I absolutely love this show .. it would be a shame if it wasnt on anymore
Why can't we keep good shows on the air? I have a brain! The mindless programming of reality shows must go. I thought finally with Studio 60 I would have a smart, funny, deal with today's issues show. This show dealt with hot topics in a witty and intelligent manner. We wonder why our Society is going down hill, it is because we are becoming mindless drones. We want intelligent programing, NBC execs must listen!
Keep the Studio 60 alive. You only have one other show worth watching. If you want to keep the people watching your network quit getting rid of your quality shows.
Studio 60 and Heros had me watching NBC for two hours on monday nights. Now it's an hour and the TV goes off. Only two shows I watched. Bring studio 60 back.
I don't understand why you would cancel such a great show. I know so many people who love this show and I'm sure there are many who haven't even put there name on this list but that doesn't mean they aren't watching. Its such a good show.
Studio 60 is a very fast paced and I am surprised it might not appeal to a younger audience for that very reason. I don't believe a few weeks is enough time to determine the success of a show. If it is not working well in that time slot, move it.
This is a terrific show! What in the world would make you cancel sure a smart funny uncompromising show! I would always tape it to watch in the morning...a little late for me, but I so looked forward to it each week. Unbeliveable...NBC is catering to a lower mentality, what a shame.
Monday night is the best night of TV, with "Heroes" and "Studio 60." A great pairing, and we love both shows very much. PLEASE don't cancel "Studio 60!"
Boycott NBC and all of their sponsors. We have the money and the power to make a difference. Studio 60 was the most refreshing, witty and well written show on. If NBC doesn't want it maybe they can swap with CBS for "celebrity cops" or whatever that piece of crap was called. Big mistake NBC!!!
Please move, rather than cancel Studio 60. It was a pleasant surprise, and the Black Donnellys was surprising not good (maybe there was too much hype - or maybe you should have warned folks that the main characters were actually bad guys).
25 year old male with 100k+ annual income, and I watch every episode, and I also watch every commercial. I'm also an extremely gullible consumer. Market to me on this show.
Studio 60 is a great show!!! I personally look forward to Monday nights to watch the show. It is different than anything out there. It has a little bit of everything. Not only does it have great actors but it is also witty, intelligent, and very well written. Maybe changing the time slot will bring up the ratings. It is worth a try!
Studio 60 is witty, edgey, and thought-provoking, but does not cater only to the tastes of a certain class. I think the network has seriously overlooked the potential mass appeal of this show, which does not lack in slapstick humor and catchy one-liners. This show deserves a better time slot and should be paired with a show of the same genre. Of course you are going to lose an audience when you pair action adventure with dramatic comedy. Don't cancel the best show on television due to poor promotion and placement.
I will not be wayching ANY programming on NBC unless, and until Studio 60 returns. With a few hundred channels available to me, I don't need to watch a network that does not know quality programming, and will not stick with one when it has the chance. If 1971 CBS was 2007 NBC, M*A*S*H would have been gone in one season. My DVR is programmed to record Studio 60, so I don't have to tune to NBC to know that it's back (and I won't!) Shame on all of you.
Little babies will cry, fuzzy little puppies will go hungry, and all the orphans in the whole wide world will have no blankets this winter if you cancel Studio 60. Does NBC really want that on their conscience? I think not.
I'm not surprised. How could such a great show make it in the existing tv industry? (but west wing did?!)From the very first episode of studio 60, I thought, "WOW! this is REALLY what tv drama should be about!" and I wondered...could this survive the network boards? would advertisers buy in? would the christian right throw acid on it? would the producers have back bone enough? Well, I guess I let my hopes get up. But then, as the show began to skip weeks, doubt crept in. Then the writing changed. From honest, hard-hitting, to sophomoric romantic drivel. It was still way worth watching. Should I dare hope the network will keep this show on the air? I don't care what night. I am dumbfounded that a show as horrible as Black Donnellys (what toxic trash) would replace the spot of such a great show. You guys do realize you affect social norms, right? Why not keep on the good stuff. You make enough bucks to give viewers ONE decent option.
