I am disappointed this show has been taken off and another violent one has replaced it. With all the reality and crime shows, it was a nice change. The actors are all well established, and good. Hope it returns.
This show is to good to just be thrown off the air so soon. Give it more time. It's one of the best shows I've seen on television in a while, with exceptional writing. Too many networks give up on new shows way to early. Studio 60 is great, I love it and it needs to stay on the air. NBC must keep this show going.
Remember Seinfeld, The West Wing? Slow starts for successful shows... it's deja vu. A. Sorkin is the most talented writer/show creator on TV. Don't cancel, NBC! PS: I will never, repeat NEVER, watch a game or "reality" show in prime time. Bring back drama and sitcoms!
Quite honestly i was shocked last night when another show had replaced my beloved Studio 60. Monday nights are a hard night for shows. Heroes has been explosive because a huge number of high-schoolers have nothing better to do then tune into nbc. This has made S 60's numbers look worse.
This show is brilliant.
I have so few pleasures in life, watching studio 60 for one hour a week after a crappy monday was one of them. please don't take it away from me for yet another blue collar murder crime drama, as if there's not three hundred of them on the air already
is there any way you can find it in your wallets... i mean hearts, to keep it on the air? i'm aware that it might not be as profitable as dead bodies and exhibitionists. however, if you could just stop being simple and/or lazy for a moment, you'll find that there is a profit to be made from this unique demographic. and since studio 60 is the only show of it's kind on the air, that puts you in a unique position. it seems to me that a mature viewer with a career has more money to spend than a child working at mcdonald's. but hey, i could be wrong.
this makes the second greatest show in 2 years get cancelled due to execs not getting it. (arrested development being the other.) this show is brilliant and should remain on the air.
One of the best shows on TV. The last episode with the baby doll had me in stitches. I've got Tivo'd episodes of Heroes, Lost, Grey's Anatomy yet to watch, but not Studio 60. It's the first show I pick to watch. I can't believe that NBC is even thinking about canceling this show! They'd be completely Nutso.
I cannot even watch SNL anymore because when I watch it I find myself thinking of how much more I like Studio 60. I'd also urge you to pay attention to the DVR numbers because I know in my apartment we're so used to being able to watch tv without commercials that we'll actually DVR shows and wait until about 20 minutes in just so that we can fast forward through the commercials. We're big fans of the show in Boston!
This is the only show where I have not missed a single episode. It is intelligently written, has a wonderful cast, and is just not another cookie cutter show. NBC needs to find a way to keep this show on the air.
I know the numbers aren't as high as you'd like, but those of us that are here are here to stay. Pay attention to the DVR numbers, the iTunes sales and DVD sales and PLEASE give us a second season to be proven right. And for goodness sake, pair it with something that makes sense. I love Heroes, but the two shows appeal to a completely different demo.
Studio 60 is my favorite show that has ever been created. It is only because of Studio 60 that I even watch Heroes. My friends and I have Studio 60 parties every Monday and then talk about the episode all week. Please, please, please don't take this away from us.
i have enjoyed this show from day one. I gave it a chance and found myself enjoying it more than Hero's, which has become dull in comparison to studio 60. I mean what an interesting show, its captures people at thier best and thier worst. This show has redeaming value in the waist land of reality shows and lack luster dramas.
NBC, move the show to a better slot, like many people signing this board I sure Im not alone in saying that without Studio 60 who cares about Deal or No Deal, and Heros.
This is a great show, give it support and time to grow its audience share. It's worth watching. I didn't find the West Wing till season 3 and am the biggest fan you could ever find now...borderline obsessed!! This show is just as smart and funny, let them build you a great audience!
I have enjoyed Studio 60 from the beginning ...please continue or at least show the remaining episodes...its hard to find "good" TV that's well thought out and engaging
After Arrested Development was cancelled I thought intelligent network television had come to an end. The introduction of Studio 60 gave me another show to look foward to, please don't make the same mistakes as Fox and cancel a quality show.
There are already over 8000 people on this list, all with IQ's over 100, that are calling for this show to stay. Are there any programing exec's at NBC with IQ's over 100?
With networks continuing to air program after program of mind numbing reality television, isn't it nice to know that there is still a show out there that helps us escape reality? It's intelligent, well written, well acted, and actually makes me laugh....something television hasn't done in quite some time. It would be a huge disappointment if this show were to be cancelled.
This is one of the best shows on television and one of the only ones I watch regularly. Take a clue from the show itself, stop talking down to America with trashy reality shows and do something of value. This is an intelligent and funny show that deserves a chance at a few more seasons to continue building an audience.
This is a really smart, and very funny show. I wake up to early to be able to watch it at 10am so I end up using my DVR. I wish it was on at another time. I really hope it is not canceled.
NBC, if you want better ratings, move Studio 60 to a different time slot. I have a feeling that Deal or No Deal and Heroes attracts a much different audience. Studio 60 is not perfect, but it has great acting and no one can write dialogue like Sorkin.
I love this show! It doesn't really match the audience for 'Heroes', so I'm with the folks who advise moving one or the other of them to another time slot.
Studio 60 is the smartest and wittiest shows out there. This is the only show that I HAVE to watch each week. It is amazing to see a woman in power, even better that you focus on how smart she is and yet she is human. Don't live up to Wes's rant; prove you think I have a brain.
Studio 60 is a great intelligent and quick show that deserves a chance to prove itself in a more appropriate time slot. The Christmas show was one of the best written and acted episodes I have ever seen from any television show. Following this, how it it justified to keep overacted melodrama like Crossing Jordan and choose to disregard Studio 60?
I am truly disappointed that NBC is considering cancelling this show! The interaction of the characters was brilliant and I looked forward to it every Monday. Please reconsider!
This is the best show you got! I know Monday nights are hard. But the cast, writing, story equals a fantastic show and I've already converted 5 of my friends to watching it, they love it, just didn't notice it at first. Imagine what you can do if you advertise it better?
This is without any doubt one of the finest shows on television, please allow Sorkin and Shlamme some time to find their groove again working together. The incredible promise that they have shown in the past should be extended to Studio 60 as well. Let the show live and it will find it's audience expand over time, just as Frasier, Weeds, and every other show for intelligent, thinking people has. We do not need more show from the VP of illiterate programming, it's time for a change.
I am so disappointed to hear that this show may be canceled. I love the cast of characters and am hoping to see what happens next. I really hope NBC reconsiders canceling. If shows like Mr. Belvedere was able to last for as long as it did, how can a show like Studio 60 get canceled without giving it more than a season for its audience to find it?
Please keep this show.....I love to watch a show that I have to LISTEN too.. the written word..and how it is delivered. Studio 60, House and Boston Legal..I am 47... I was there watching SNL when it started.. I am your target audience...the show is real.. So I say... in real studio 60 fashion... find your set or at least attempt to grow a pair NBC.. and keep Studio 60 for those of us who are of age and pay the cable bills.
With so much crap on TV these days we NEED quality, entertaining, brilliant shows like this one on the air. For those of us who enjoy something a little more than "reality" tv and the next rediculous game show. Society is being dumbed down by shows like the simple life and survivor and house of carters. dont ditch a show that finally has substance. later dayz
Studio 60 is a smart, humorous, underrated show that NBC has done little to support. It would be a mistake to cancel it as it is one of the few intelligent shows left on network television (thank goodness for HBO!). Please give Studio 60 a chance to thrive!!!!!!
Studio 60 is an incredible show. It has a horrible time slot opposing 24 on Fox. Keep the show and change the timeslot... and air it consistently for once. It will grow as Heroes had if you water it.
PLEASE, bring back Studio 60 for those of us who think and actually enjoy doing so. I'm pleading for all the people out here in the real world who not only can, but actually do, appreciate the turn of a well written and executed phrase delivered by people who can actually act and not just mug at the cameras.
Believe it or not, there are television owning people who don't want to watch talentless people being humiliated; don't care who gets kicked off the island; aren't interested in what's in the suitcase; don't care which aging "star" is in strutting their over-the-hill stuff in spangles and feathers to disco music. Television viewers who already know there are internet predators out there and who don't feel the need to to watch the endless parade of stupidity marching into and through the "sting" house kitchen on a regular basis. Enough already.
I am not a television snob. I actually LIKE watching television, when the programs are written well enough to keep my interest for the entire length of the show. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm experiencing the 50's again (game shows, talent shows [remember Ted Mack] and mindless drivel designed to pacify and hypnotize). I took a moment to count the number of television shows I look forward to each week; the shows that I set my TIVO for so I won't miss an episode, and the hours added up to 5. . .Studio 60, Boston Legal, Gray's Anatomy, Men in Trees, Criminal Minds. . .with side trips to shows like 60 minutes and Dateline when the topics are of interest to me.
If nothing else, can't you schedule Studio 60 for one of those nights when you're just re-playing re-runs of episodes of shows from your current schedule that you played earlier in the week? Do we have to have SVU, Law & Order, and Criminal Intent twice a week?
Namaste
Studio 60 will be a terrible loss. This show is too smart to abandon. Some people who don't "get it" now, will come around. Put some marketing steel behind it and give it another round!
