Why Bush would wanna take anime away when stores make millions off of manga, anime DVDs, etc is beyond me, but I suppose it could be a ploy to get people to "Buy American." I demand that a more reasonable and unbiased view of anime be viewed before deciding to ban anything. The person writing the counter-petition has viewed anime with a scorn unheard of and is clearly too blind to see the real reason for each series. Though some scenes are questionable, there ARE real plots and entertainment found in each individual series.

I am quite curious to know, just WHY would they want to take away anime? If they think it's going to stop violence, then they have a serious twisted way of looking things. I'm pretty sure that the reason they're probably thinking this, is that the shows are too violent for children to be watching and that by taking it off, they will be keeping more children safe. Well, let me ask this, what about all of the other violent movies? Hmm? Are they going to go and take THOSE off too? And what about the NEWS? Heaven knows how much violence is portrayed on that. If they even THINK about taking our anime away, then I think it should be for the choice of the public. I myself would be very angry and annoyed at seeing them go, since it's one thing that's given me a shred of entertainment. Besides, that Swim channel or whatever it's called, seems to be more tuned towards teens, so honestly, don't take it away. If parents don't want their children watching these shows, then they, as PARENTS, should choose solitude from certain shows. I can't think of any other reason they would want to take it off, so really, if there's an actual GOOD reason for taking anime away, I would love to hear it. For now, I don't think there IS a good enough reason. As a parting note, it's utterly pathetic.
