ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Is Midnight Sun still dead to you, or can you see finishing and publishing it in the future?
STEPHENIE MEYER: It’s really complicated, because everyone now is in the driver’s seat, where they can make judgment calls. ‘’Well, I think this should happen, I think she should do this.'’ I do not feel alone with the manuscript. And I cannot write when I don’t feel alone. So my goal is to go for, like, I don’t know, two years without ever hearing the words Midnight Sun. And once I’m pretty sure that everyone’s forgotten about it, I think I’ll be able to get to the place where I’m alone with it again. Then I’ll be able to sneak in and work on it again.

In the Entertainment Weekly article that we posted yesterday, Stephenie Meyer discusses how she hopes to resume Midnight Sun once she is in the right place again - which she suggests will be after two years of not hearing any talk about the book. After reading this article, The Twilight Lexicon had a member suggest that we begin to refer to the book as “Dark High Noon” so Stephenie wouldn’t have to hear the words “Midnight Sun” for a few years.

I support this petition.TWILIGHT is a book that you cant stop reading and so is every other STEPHENIE MEYER book I love all her characters (EVEN THE BAD GUYS)because without the bad guys you dont have a story anyways I**LOVE** her books and if I hadnt read them I wouldnt have found my FAVORITE book EVER so PLEASE write MIDNIGHT SUN its the only book thats worth reading.

I as one of your biggest fans think you should go ahead and finish then publish Midnight Sun we are all dying to know what Edward thinks his mind is just so complicated. I have read Twilight 7 times, New Moon 5 times, Eclipse 6 times, and Breaking Dawn 7 times (Personally My Fave). I absoulutely love your work and it would be a shame to let your skills go to waste. I have read the version on the web and I am not sorry for this it was an excellent piece of work I started crying when I saw where it stopped.I think it would be a waste of your skills to not contiue with your work and we definately all want to know what Edward is thinking during Breaking Dawn. Team Edward Rules!
