I support this petition. As a long standing Stargate fan I am disappointed that SGA is being cancelled. There is a huge fan base for this show and we hope you will eb able to see this and not axe the show.
Stargate Atlantis is easily one of the best Science Fiction shows of all time, and both MGM and SciFi will be, I think I can say with some confidence, alienating many, many faithful viewers by canceling the series. I don't mean viewers of Stargate Atlantis alone, either, I mean people who typically watch SciFi. Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett, Rachel Lutrell, Jason Momoa, David Nykl, Kavan Smith, and the many other regular and semi-regular actors on the show have given fans years of entertainment and joy, and this is how MGM and SciFi repays them. I will no longer be viewing anything on SciFi if Atlantis is dropped, and I hope others will join me in this resolution.

One of the worst decisions made right now.. better ratings, exciting stories, and a well earned show that produces good stuff and even won people's award and they decide to pull it.. it deserves to go on.
Canceling Atlantis is a very bad decision. It has a HUGE fan base and the ratings are staying consistent. There is no reason to cancel a show that has been headlining Sci-Fi Friday nights for years. This is just the end of a long line of poor decisions on behalf of those who run the show. It's time to right the boat and get this show back on track.

Do not end the show because of low ratings in the US, they do not mean that nobody else is watching it. I'm from Hungary, Europe, and I'm downloading the episodes weekly, as I have no way of paying for it (apart from the dvd releases approximately a year after the end of a season, with messed up localized dubbing...) Give us ways to pay for our entertainment, like iTunes downloads in the US! I'd be happy to get SGA from a legal source.
I support this petition. Please reconsider the cancellation, as it would be a shame to lose a show of this quality. That is, SGA is one of the few intelligent shows left in an industry now dominated by "reality" series.
I know MGM is planning on making a two hour Stargate Atlantis movie, but that’s like taking the old dog to the pound to bring in a new puppy and telling the kids, “That’s okay sweety, we can go and visit old Shep at the pound before they put him to sleep.” Great going MGM, SciFi channel and NBC. Don’t worry, the “kids” will remember this.
So which penny counter made that call? They should be fired. Support this petition completely. IF it works, great. If not, MGM gets no more of my money.
I support this petition, because Atlantis can't just stop like that, just because SciFi doesn't want to pay, and kill each of its series after 5 season, just like Galactica, Firefly, SG-1, or Farscape.

I strongly support this petition. The decision to cancel SGA is flawed and an insult to the many fans who've followed the Stargate franchise loyally from the very beginning of SG1.
I support this petition. And I will not watch any more shows put out by MGM as it seems you can not support a show. (That includes the new Bond movie, I would rather miss it then be stuffed when you make it a 2 parter and then don't make a second part)
SCI-FI and/or MGM gives us crap like Scare Tactics, some of the worst movies ever made that insult our intelligence and aren't even good enough to rate as B movies, Destination Truth, and Ghost Hunters???! They cancel the best and most well written SciFi shows like SGA and Battlestar Gallactica. I quess since America wants crap, SCI-FI will step up to the plate and take the low road.
I don't buy their excuses for doing this. MGM sees a cash cow in DVD's plain and simple.
I have to say I'm not overly surprised by this. Hints were all over the place. I feel most sorry for the cast and for all the people who put together the "Save Carson Beckett" campaign. Giving Paul just five episodes always was just placating the fans - throwing them a bone to shut them up.
I'll watch SG Universe and pray it's worth a damn, but without Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett and the others, I'm not sure I care all that much.
I support this petition. Add me to the list of people who will NOT be watching and supporting STARGATE UNIVERSE, the brand new shiny toy of both Bridge Studios and MGM. After all, how long will it take them to abandon it, too, because it's too expensive and they can't think of any new plots? <SHEESH!> I think TPTB are nuts to cancel SGA.
