There is no way those involved in Stargate: Atlantis can give the kind of ending they and the fans deserve when they're informed halfway through a season that it is their last. Even with a movie, that only gives the equivalent of two or three episodes. At least give leave for a miniseries, eight episodes or so to let the current season tie up the loose ends and bring things to a booming finish. Don't leave us with a hastily cobbled together, half-assed ending to such a wonderful, creative series that's given joy to so many.

This latest in the line of poor decisions is dismaying. Stargate Atlantis, especially those episodes prominently featuring the performance of David Hewlett, had been one of the highlights of my weekly viewing. Without this programme, your company has little to nothing left to offer me. The proposed SGU has no appeal for me and I have no plans to watch it at all.
