I'm going to be completely honest here - I'm not a big fan of the Stargate universe at large. While I enjoy the occasional SG-1 episode now and then, on a whole, I'm just not that interested. Atlantis changed that for me - Atlantis has become a love, an obsession, it has completely renewed and expanded my love for the science fiction genre, and to see that you're taking if off the air when the show is still fun, exciting, and hell, one of the few decent things on television (yes, including the SciFi channel), just angers and upsets me more than I can begin to explain. Like I mentioned earlier, I’m not the biggest SG-1 fan around, but I think pulling that was a stupid decision too; many of your fans still loved the show, supported it AND you, and wanted it to continue. How can doing this to Atlantis help? And now with Universe coming around, you look to continue the trend; why am I supposed to be enticed by a new Stargate series which is obviously going to be pulled before it’s time? Why even bother, when I can spare myself the disappointment? (Honestly, I’m not intrigued by the idea anyway, but even if there is some chance the show might grow on me, I don’t think I’ll take it; what’s the point?) Frankly, Atlantis is still in its prime, and SG-1 wasn’t when it went out, but people still wished for the story to continue and you disappointed them. Sure there are future movies coming out for both franchises, but if they continue to be anything like SG-1’s most recent endeavors, then you might as well count yourself out of my future plans; I won’t be watching, because you aren’t doing justice to either franchise. You’re fans deserve better, but it’s clear you don’t care enough to give it to them.
A 2 hour movie is no compensation for 20, 45 minute episodes. I feel robbed, I seem to have, in the process of supporting the continued success of SG-1 through the buying of the 2 movies on DVD given MGM and the 'Stargate franchise' the 'great' idea of switching to the movie format (well not just me!). Well thanks for that, I seem to be damned if I do (lose SGA) or damned if I don't (lose SG-1) I'm not sure I will bother buying the new DVD's it will probably lead to some sort of Stargate movie war in which the fans will ultimately be deciding the fate of further SG-1 and SGA movies. Another great show to mourn the passing of.

I think they need to start making better decisions! I have been watching the show since it aired and have all seasons of SG-1 and Atlantis on DVD. I was heart broken when they took SG-1 off the air. Now they are making the same mistake with Atlantis! This is really upsetting!
I honestly only started watching SG BECAUSE of Atlantis! If SG1 co-existed with SGA before it was cancelled, can't Atlantis go at LEAST a couple seasons longer??
Please keep this show going. My dad watches this show all the time and I like it too. when my dad leaves to go fight for the navy i watch the show for him and he will call me to find out what happend. Atlantis means so much to me and my dad and helps us to ease the pain of him being accross the world. Dont take it off the air. PLEASE

The STARGATE ATLANTIS FANS have been totally betrayed, SGA has been sacrificed and tossed aside for the new Stargate Universe, the majority of fans do not even want this rubbish - too make way for a younger audience; how dare you, what has age got to do with it? I am really disgusted with the way SGA has been shelved without a bye or leave for the new rubbish!!! I as an old codger won't be watching SGU, I think the Stargate Franchise has just doomed itself with this crappy descision.

Bad time to cancel! I just became a fan in season 4 with the addition of Amanda Tapping! I am not sure I would be interested in the movie format. There is not enough time to put into action the complexities of intrapersonal relationships much less character development. TV format is more appropriate for such a genre. I am disappointed with Sci-Fi and MGM.
I support this petition WHOLEHEARTEDLY. MGM and SciFi have really done it this time. Not only are you people ruining a perfectly good (and GETTING BETTER) show, but you have also violated the contracts of the actors. Although, with what you have done to Miss Tapping, and Miss Higgenson, I am not suprised. It is morraly reprehensable. I demand another season at least, maybe more.
