I support this petition. SGA has so much going for it, with great actors, stories, and effects. Not to mention the connection with SG-1. There is still so much life left in it that one or two movies a year really won't do justice to. Please bring SGA back!
By calling quits on Atlantis, and putting Universe on, and trying to appeal to a broader crowd - MGM is making a huge mistake. Stargate was a success because of it's originality and the intellect with which it was written. They're play to apply to a younger crowd, will only serve to make the fans they have now turn on them. I'm not saying that Universe won't be successful. But made for T.V. Movies like Bird Flu Horror (rolling eyes), is too horrible a fate for SGA. To satiate Stargate fans, they'd have to pump out these movies every week or so. They only reason Ark of Truth and Continuum worked was because we had Atlantis to distract us. Now what? We're just supposed to turn over and lie down and let some corporate big shot decide for us? We're just supposed to settle for a Stargate with Barney in it? NO, I SAY NO! The entire franchise has a life of it's own. Atlantis has many, many stories left to tell. I'm not going to settle for anything that is a ploy to increase their audience span. I don't want character drama, I want adventure and mythology. Am I right?
If it's a choice between Stargate: 90210 (oh, I'm sorry, I meant Stargate Universe) and Atlantis, there really is no choice, is there? I was planning to give this new show a chance, but now that it's effectively replacing my show, forget it.
How does it make sense to whine about rising production costs that force you to cancel a show while simultaneously planning to start a new show that IS IN THE EXACT SAME FRANCHISE? What? Who thought up the logic on that one?
SAVE SGA! MGM's gonna have a whole lot of pissed off people who are unwilling to get invested in yet another stargate franchise when they just keep killing off the ones they already have.
Keeping your fanbase: you're doing it wrong, MGM.

to all the movie/tv studios: you need to stop canceling good shows! firefly star trek enterprise and now sga! whats wrong with you people? and whats worse is that both firefly and star trek enterprise were getting beter ratings near the end!
I am so tired of the crap that we the fans have to endure once a show of high quality and substance is taking away. Stargate Atlantis is a solid show which deserves a much longer life
I support this petition. SGA is good enough to keep going. I'm all for SGA movies and SGU, but surely there's a way to make it all work, right? SG-1 and SGA were working at the same time with Ark of Truth and Continuum in the works as well, so...
I support this petition. This show could for just as long, or longer than SG-1. What is with you guys pulling shows before their ready to be taken off the air? Movies are good, but not good enough!
SGA deserves better, obviously SciFi don't know quality when they see it....
Wake up SciFi, or maybe another channel will pick it up and save us all from having nothing decent to watch!
I support this petition. Stargate Atlantis is the best sci-fi show on television, It's also the best show period for the sci-fi channel, I tune in every week just for this show.

It makes no sense to cancel such a popular, proven show in order to start a new one that is going to cost a lot more to produce. It also goes to show that studios/networks take no notice of what their viewers actually want. After all didn't Atlantis win the People's Choice Award this year? Shame on EVERYONE who had a hand in this cancellation!
Atlantis is a solid show and deserves to remain on the air. I would like to see it run concurrent with the new Stargate series for a least a couple of more seasons. This show is just now hitting it's second stride since the new cast changes. It still has a lot of mileage left before it jumps the shark.
while sg1 had a whole ten seasons to explore planets and everything, were sposed to be stuck with only half that time for atlantis?!
