I support this petition. It is a shame that the Networks could care less about what people want on TV. This is their way of saying 'screw the fans.' Networks want us all to be little robots and watch the same type of shows over and over again. That way they don't have to take a risk and be *gasp* creative in a programming approach. They want to have us believe the only available programming is not!reality tv, people f**king each other (it's called a drama), & misinfomercials. Let's not forget sports. Auto racing (left turn, another left turn), bowling, golf- boy, they get the heart pumping. Professional wrestling...um, yeah, no. The point being, everyone has something they like to watch. It is said that SGA is one of the most DVR'd programs. Well, it can be construed to be a FAMILY program, it is shown on a FRIDAY, at 10 PM. Anyone, with the slightest bit of intelligence could tell you, young people tend to go out on Friday evenings and it is a little late in the evening for some of the younger school age demographic or families are doing other things. So yeah, DVR's are working overtime. As for the demographics, it is not just the young (18-25) males that watch the show. It is an extremely diverse group of people with equally diverse background that watch SGA and we watch for different reasons, from the action to pure geekiness. The one thing that we have in common is the love of SGA. OK, enough of my blathering.
I see petitions like these all the time, and I laugh at them.
However, Stargate is no laughing matter to me. It's the only "sci-fi" show I like, and for good reason. No other show does as good a job of capturing the "human" element of these sort of things as Stargate does.

I support this petition.stargate is a great programme and should continue.it is a shame when big companies make their decisions only based on money, one day, hopefully, it will back fire on them, but by then too many very good shows will be dust.

As a viewer from Australia I have had many hours and great pleasure from watching the SG1/SGA Series over numerous years. With SGA you havent even explored to see where the show can go or how many more seasons can be made, with the possibilites of including movies while still maintaining the series(Continual Airing).I cant believe that you would end a very successful show with many million viewers worldwide. If im not mistaken why would you pull a very successful tv series with top ratings all over the world. To me this is very very bad business management part from these so called powers to be. (REMEMBER THE EQUATION A=L+P). On another note I believe that these so called powers to be are more worried about their own back pockets when they should be focusing their attention towards keeping a very successful series running with the possibilities of numerous franchises to add to it. Now that would be good business sense dont you think.
I support this petition. I've read the "reasons" behind wanting to cancel this show and it is a bunch of b.s. SG1 went TEN years and still went out on top so it is absurd to assume Atlantis will fall after only five. This assumption only shows the creators' lack of faith in their abilities which does not give me hope for their follow-up movies and the third series. I am now very hesitant to watch these! Another thing that stinks about this whole idea is the fact that movies are pale alternatives to the tv series. Screw the alleged "advanced" special effects -- you can't delve adequately into a good storyline when all you have is two hours to work with, nor can you have character development. (Continuum is a good example of this!) No, I am thoroughly sick and tired of my favorite shows all being canceled in favor of movies. If I wanted to watch movies, I never would have started watching tv in the first place. If Atlantis isn't brought back for a few more seasons, then Sci-Fi can now kiss this customer good-bye. I know I'm not alone in this.
Stargate: Atlantis is probably one of the best shows to ever air on television; it really is a new and improved SG1, and SGU won't be able to top it at all! Please save John, Rodney, Jen, Teyla, Ronon, and everyone else on Atlantis! We love them!
MGM you really SUCK. The fans want more Atlantis not a new show Universe. What happens if we all watch the new show, will it get cancelled in a year or so. Nope can't be botthered having that disappointment happen again. Just give the fans's what they want STARGATE ATLANTIS

I LOVE this show! I already find the hiatuses unbarable...I can't imagine having to way for movies that would come out once in a while! I belive there are so many untold stories involving those characters that stopping now would be a betrayal to the fans.
