SGA is a great show, I just so appreciate it, and you will end it to start a new show that I don't want to watch, that sucks.
Moreover, you"ll end on a cliffhanger, which sucks badly 'cause cliffhangers have and will always suck. How many time will we have to wait to have the conclusion ?

I support this petition. I love the characters of Atlantis. The movies just aren't enough. Please save the PEOPLE'S CHOICE WINNER FOR BEST SCI-FI SHOW!
Is MGM crazy? This is one of the most fun and original sci-fi series around! It beats the pants off SG-1 and it's not overdramatic like BSGalactica. It's not the show's fault the writers don't know what to do with it. The studio keeps making character changes that throw off any thought-up plotlines they might have had - adding Ronin way cool, removing Weir moronic, putting Woolsey in charge what the hell? But the basis of the show, a lost city in a distant galaxy, is an inspirational, and almost romantic, theme. There's plenty to do in a galaxy, it doesn't have to be all about the Wraith. Keep the show alive, but give the writers more creative license to come up with cool new stuff. Weir told them in episode 5 that there were other advanced races in the galaxy. There are plenty of stories there! You're just not trying hard enough.

seriously, after Enterprise turned out to be less than it should have been, iturned to stargate, and im not lieing when i say this (SG1 + SGA) was the best sci fi program ive ever seen.
To cancel it now, without at least another few seasons is rediculous
Please do not kill SGA simply for making more movies - Art of Truth was put together to fast. WE NEED this series to complete itself - if inane and dumb series like the Young and the Restless can go on for 42 years why can't SGA make it for another 5 YEARS!?

As a long-time scifi fan and WRITER (yes, really, go look me up in Wikipedia), I can tell you that this is stupendously stupid. This show has only gotten better as time has gone on, and while I understand that there may be financial concerns, the viewer ratings for this show should tell you that the audience is watching AND growing. I truly believe that the only reason the SG1 dvds have done well was a) because the show was axed in the middle of an arc and b) youd built a very SOLID base with a ten-year run. If Atlantis is growing its viewership, it has done so through word-of-mouth AND compelling storylines. Why would you risk this uptick now? Why not continue to build on its growing popularity? You will lose market, not gain it, and I cant believe that a movie will do as well simply because you dont have the larger fanbase to support itnot yet anyway.
I guess it comes down to this: Dont you get that a show like Atlantis can help you? Just as Atlantis might pull in viewers for other SCIFI shows, these same viewers recognize that YOU are the ones backing the show. I look at 20th-Century Fox and think Star Wars. I look at MGM and Ive always connected you to Stargate. Hello: This is your upside, folks. Produce a couple very successful shows, and we think good thoughts.
For the record, the first SG1 was horrible, and I only watched Continuum out of curiosity. I didnt buy or rent the DVD because I was so appalled by the first one and it was only happenstance that someone else already had it. It was better, but thats only because it wasnt as bad, poorly plotted and horrifically paced as the first. (How many minutes did we really have to watch TealC trudge?)
I cant believe you will do better with Atlantis. I could be wrong. Maybe youall have learned something about the difference between films and television shows; maybe not. Right now, Atlantis is a great show, and the only thing on SCIFI, other than BSG
