I support this petition! My heart sank when I heard about the untimely demise of Stargate Atlantis. This is one of the best Sci Fi shows on television. How unfair; it was just beginning to deepen in potential and character development. O.K. MGM, if the ever-shrinking American dollar is limiting production costs in Canada, what kind of low budget crap is Stargate Universe going to be? It doesn't cost much to have a bunch of no-name teens, with one "headliner" on a single sound stage, who occasionally may be turned loose on a back lot set. No thanks. SG-1 was not a favorite of mine, however, I have been a loyal fan of Atlantis because of the cast chemistry. I will not watch Stargate Universe or support any other franchise MGM decides to promote. What is the point? Why would I invest time in a new program, if one of your top rated shows, with a world-wide fan base, winning countless awards, is cancelled? Just exactly what criteria are needed for a hit show at MGM? So, for all you bean-counting fat cats at MGM and SCI FI, who are trying to save a buck, in the end, you will manage to alienate a HUGE fan base. When only the "bottom line" is taken into consideration and a WINNER is cancelled, well, I wouldn't be asking for a raise any time soon.
I support this petition. It seems to me that if a show wins an award (Spacy) at the beginning of the season then it's doomed. I for one will not be watching SG Universe. How about we start up a petition to boycott it instead.
I support this petition. Canceling SGA just so you guys can start SGU will seriously piss off a lot of fans and then you can say goodbye to the $$$. That and why start another series where we, as "fans", would have to get to know new characters, new enemies, and a new format when we've got a set of characters, enemies and a format we're familiar and comfortable with?

The best show in history since SG1 and you cancel it? WHY? The nature of the show leaves limitless possibilities for story. New galaxies, Atlantis could again become a ship, new enemies, more technology.... Is this all for DVD sales? If that's the case i'll just download the new movies illegaly.
I support this petition. At least one more season to clear up the loose ends at the end of this one, don't just stuff it all into a movie or two. Also, starting a new series wouldn't really interest me as much as keeping the characters and story line we all know and love.
I not only agree that ending SGA is silly beyond imagination, it also alienates fans of the Stargate franchise to a very high degree. SG-1 got a decent run, very fitting for the show. But the truth is, some of the fans of the Stargate universe were drawn in by its spin-off like me.
I was drawn into the Stargate world by Stargate Atlantis and to end this show so quickly would be a shame.
Having lost some interest in season 4, it was quickly regained this season with the fresh infusion of Richard Woolsey, who may have put under great skepticism for being the newest leaders, but has shown so far that to be a humorous foil for the rest of the team and also a fascinating character in his own right.
I guess we're asking: why end a show that is probably the best sci-fi shows out there? It is a quality show that attracts many different viewers of different demographics and still draws new fans worldwide in. It is literally in its prime and to cancel it is a decision that is will not be easily or quietly accepted.
I support this petition. On top of that SGU is an unoriginal ideal that was the end of Star Trek (can we say Voyager!) I need my weekly McKay fix! I hate to say it but cancelling the show will only leave a bad taste in most fans mouths and they will be unreceptive to SGU.
I support this petition and everything it stands for. We will not just sit idly by while another fantastic show is taken from us. We will fight to save Atlantis, and we will win.
I support this petition. Give SGA at least 3 more seasons WHILE running SGU at the same time. That way we can get aquainted with the new show while still having the old. If you don't do this you will lose a lot of viewers for SGU.
Stargate Atlantis is so much better quality then most of the shows on television right now. This show also has so much potential and such a strong fan base that I see no logical reason for its cancellation. Save our Show!
this sucks since season 5 of SGA is the best of all stargate seasons so far and to end it would leave me with no stargate to watch which they can not do to me.
They've got to be kidding! SG-1 went for 10 seasons and Atlantis is worth only 5? First of all, SGA is WAY better than SG-1! Better story lines and way more interesting story arcs. Even the cast is better! I wholeheartedly support this petition.
I agree with the Save Our Stargate Atlantis website- there is nothing wrong with the series, and it still has the potential to go for another year (at the very least).
