Please consider having an event LIKE SSW continued each year. I, personally, would like to see it go from coast to coast, as long as the same amount of actors are included and the areas in which it is held is affordable and either a Disney property, or as nice as Disney. It is truly magical hearing the music play over the loud speakers! The long lines and excessive crowds, however, aren't so nice. Also, being jammed into one tight holding area to see certain events with standing room only...or breathing room only, isn't fun. So, there are some issues to work on...but the overall concept of having everyone get together with a lot of the actors is great. Individual events surrounding a main event would be nice at SSW or something like it, besides the events in Manhatten, which is extremely expensive to attend. There are plenty of locations in the country where flights are main hubs and not as expensive, and the hotels in surrounding areas are reasonable like Florida's are. Regarding cruises, I am going to the rock the soap cruise...but am not happy about the price, the location...Ensenada is a dump...Cabo would have been much better!...and not everyone can handle cruises. San Diego would have been a much better choice...something on land down at Mission Bay or somewhere like that. Seattle would also make another fun event location. Indoors of course. Denver...good central spot, Boston area or southern Maine, say Ogunquit or York...another good spot...lots of possibilities!
I support this petition. For years this has been the one event that my mom and I share and look forward to. Going to Super Soap Weekend 10 years ago by coincidence, got my mom and I to start watching soaps again.
I support this petition. I have attended all but the first SSW in Florida and all weekends in California. Please don't end the tradition for small events.
I support this petition. This brings in so much tourism to Orlando and to Disney in general. If you take this away - people will fail to vacation there! The other smaller tours are not enough to bring the crowds, therefore they won't succeed! Bring in the Bad Boys - Jason & Sonny! No meet and greets - just center stage questions - the fans will be there in droves! Just rethink SSW 09 and make it BIG!
I support this Petition. This will be my first time attending Super Soap Weekend, and I really looking forward to meeting the stars of daytime drama. I have been a soap fan for over 30 years.
I ask you to reconsider cancelling this event.
Please reconsider this decision and continue SSW. It's great to be able to see so many stars from all three soaps in one place that also offers a great alternative for family members that may not be into the soaps.
