they should have not cancelled girlfriends. The first all black cast that have lasted this long. I think they everyone an explanation and because if this I hope their ratings drop drastically!

I wish they had not taken it off yet. It was a good show and I never missed an episode. IT has done a wonderful job of portraying friendships between the same and opposite sexes.
I completely agree and I hope that the CW takes this petition seriously. Since they have merged and become the CW, all the prominently black shows have been taken off the air or will be off soon due to horrible promotion.
Every Monday, My family has watched this show to enjoy ourselves with the laughters and tears it brought us. Ever since the show was canceled, there is a gap between the time we spend with each other on Mondays. I would really like to see this show back on air. It taught moral lessons that can be used for each generations. It is crazy that CW would cancel the show after Girlfriends made the network what it is today. I would like to see the rationale of this.
I am SO disappoint that this network could make suck a dumb decision! Not giving us a finale shows us that all you are about is the money not pleasing your audience. Why even have a 8yr show not to put to a proper end? I hope you reconcider this for like other black women this show has showed me what I WANT to be instead of the negitive protrals of black women that prior to girlfriends we were only exposed to. The show is like having girlfriends of your own and not putting a proper end is like just letting them die. Please give us loyal fans what we want! It is very said that, African American Women finally get a show that displays us in a positive manner showing the world that not all of us lack education, love, and friendship towards one another just to get canceled for a shows the support the majority, that chooses to display what's on every network, rich white people back stabbing each other, cheating on their husbands, boyfriends, while shopping and showing off there good looks. We see these things on our our TV screens everday for so many years and in magazines. Now we are l left with no shows that reflect who we can be know matter the background or what it means to be loyal to your sisters and brothers without being too corny and totally missing the core of being African Amercan and what we face as AA people. It iis most certainly disappointing that TV networks kicks every program that displays us in a positive manner to the curb I guess this again only proves that we will never gain what we deserve as a people.

I got into watching the girlfriend show with my girlfriend. Watching the show with my lady on monday nights was a fun night as I am busy throughout the rest of the week. However, she didnt mind it so much as long as we got to see what was her show and it became our show. The show was cool it's not only for girls but men got into it also as me and boys did. but hey it lets us know that no matter how far we've came we're still being reminding.
Girlfriends has been my favorite since the beginning. Yes, a season finale with the entire cast would be wonderful with Joan getting married and reconciling with Toni.

This is no surprise as CW, WB, and UPN have a history of doing this. At least fox had the courtesy to show us to the door back in the day. SO what is next? We help another network come up to be shown to the door or kicked out rather. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth to repeat history again. Reminds me of slavery and race relations in the U.S. - the door still hasn't been closed.
I would Hate to see such a great depiction of Black life stripped from TV without a proper Farewell. Black females and males alike have grown to admire and even emulate the cast. This sitcom has help show the world that we are more then just Hip Hop, Bball and Violence. 8 seasons is a great run and we can respect the end of an era, but just a simple Series Finale would be GREAT.

Every other long-running show that was canceled got to have a farewell episode! The least they could do is have one final extended episode to tie up everything.
I have been an ongoing supporter of Girlfriends since season 1 and I would truly like a finale at the minimum. Although I wish that the show was not ending at all, but I would be satisfied with a finale. I have even gone as far as to read one of the Girlfriends novels. So please, give us a finale-I don't know what that would hurt. Thank you in advance.

I can't believe this show has been cancelled. I had been waiting on the new episodes and then BAMN! they take this show away. This is one of the funniest shows on tv. I have watched this show from day1. I am sick of reality shows. This is ridiculous. Another one bites the dust. I agree that this show deserves a finale since they won't continue to air it. I would rather another station pick the show up instead of just doing away with it. it's a shame that good the Black shows keep disappearing. Now we're down to 3 shows. The only Black shows I make a point to watch every week are Girlfriends and the Game - no disrespect to the other 2 - but these are the one's that I love. FINALE PLEASE!!!!!
I love Girlfriends and would love for them to have a proper ending. This is so not right we the viewers have been watching this show for 8 years and have been waiting for Joan to find the right man for her and get married. William finally found love and is having a family. We haven't even got to really see Mya and Darnell back together without any problems(miscarriage). Lynn needs a life. These are just a few things to show the show need a true ending. A suggested ending is a TV 2 hour movie anything just please give the loyal fans what we deserve.
Give Girlfriends what it deserves: a proper send-off, and not some clip show. I'm considering boycotting CW for the way they abruptly long-running shows without proper ending.
