Girlfriends has been on the air for TOO long for it to end with so many loose ends. Please consider making a series finale. I think most fans would agree that Joan needs to get married, Mya and Darnell should have another baby and need to see their son successful in school, William and Monica need to have their baby, Lynn needs to make money doing something that she loves, and Toni needs to come back and make up with Joan. Even the Parkers had a series finale (nothing against that show, I watched it too).
You cannot have an 8-season show left hanging without a proper finale. Closure for actors and fans of the show. Besides, how can you continue with the DVD\'s for each season without the essential last season with finale? Doesn\'t make sense.

Girlfriends is one of best shows ever made right alone with such classic four women shows along with Designing Women, Golden Girls, Sex and the City even Living Single receive a proper new year\'s eve ending wrapping up storylines please wrap up a 1hr series finale including jill marie jones if not a phone call from toni. please take in consideration of this situation it was a good show now end it correct.
I ve watched Girlfriends since the 1st episode, its actually the only show I watch on TV now. To see it end is trully sad, but to see it end with NO FINALE shows no respect to its long years of viewers.
even if they could not get toni to come back to the show at least have her call joan knowing they made up and the fact that they didnot put a satifactory ending is like a slap in the face and because they did not finish the season out this have a negative affect on all of their future careers because no fan would trust the cast again
Girlfriends deserves a finale. This show helped to make the CW a popular network (formerly UPN). UPN\'s first set of shows, such as Homeboys in Outer-space, were disappointing at best. Girlfriends helped to turn the network around and bring it millions of viewers and millions of dollars in sponorships. The CW owes the cast of Girlfriends and its fans a proper finale.
This is ridiculous, and it goes to show how networks will keep predominately white show even if they aren\'t doing well and can a predominately black show that is doing well just so that can keep the latter.
I support this petition. All of the other shows received a proper ending epoisode, but girlfriends is just beng cut. Have some consideration for your viewers. Its bad enough your canceling but then you cant even end it right. You should be ashamed of yourself

Initially when it was on UPN we did not have UPN in our area. I petitioned to get the channel just so I could see this show. I am so disappointed that there will be no series finale.
I have been a HUGE fan of Girlfriends since season 1.I believe it is absolutely RIDICULOUS that the CW would cancel the show in this mannor. Not only have they not allowed a season finale, but they also reneged on the final show that they were supposed to use in place of the season finale which reflected all 8 seasons- WTF is that all about. CW.. your network just needs to be shut down completely OR at least get some employees in there that can handle business and make shit happen the way it\'s suppose to.

I love Girlfriends. It\'s one of the few shows that I looked forward to every week. I\'m tired of the reruns. Put it back on the air or at least give us a proper goodbye from the characters.
