I FULLY support this petition. This is ridiculous to cancel such a great show after the long run it's had and not give them the proper send off. You barely have and can keep African American viewers as is because of instances such as this, what good business sense is it to run the few remaining loyal ones you have off?
I support this petition. It has become very apparent to me and alot of my friends and family that the network CW doesn't support their urban shows as much as their shows that are intended to cater to a less urban crowd. I find this very disturbing but it seems to be true. I am starting a petition against the cw because I feel this has been going on to long, Girlfriends was one of the networks highest rated shows and has had loyal followers for years and for the network to just cancel without a closing, I find that very disrespectful to viewers
I support this petition. I am from England (uk) and this show is amazing, please reconsider or at least let the cast have there final episode to tie up story lines... please
I support this petition. This is by far the best show on television. It gives a voice to African-American women that other shows only do in a supporting effort. How can you disrespect your fans so callously?
I support this petition.
Like it has been said. I loved this show. There are very lil shows on Tv that I watch and I always looked forward to curling up with my daughters to watch this and other shows on Sun Night. I feel a lot of this would have been resolved if it had not been to the writers strike, I may be wrong but can we at least get a season finale. Let joan have her wedding. Thats all me and my girls would love to see
I support this petition. We have no programs with an all black cast in the UK, and I have absolutely loved watching this series on satellite TV. It would be a shame to have got so engaged in a great program which highlights some of the issues that we black western woman face. Please do the program justice by giving us woman closure and conclude this entertaining series properly.
I support this petition. Everytime there is a positive show featuring polished, successful African Americans, it is cancelled. There are not many shows showing positive black women, and I am highly disapointed. I would like to see what happens to the characters, and I enjoy the show immensely.
I support this petition. I am very disappointed with the trend that the CW has in cancelling predominatly black shows despite the popularly of them. The last to get the ax, Girlfriends...I have watched this show from the first episode, and would appreciate an appropriate series finale. Remember if this is about money, you can't take it with you. Resolve whatever you need to and give the fans who support your network, what they want.
I support this petition. I cant believe you cancelled girlfriend why are you canceling all of the african american tv shows I really dont appreciate that this is the only network that has any. are we still living in the times of slavery
I support this petition, simply because if the show would have had an all white cast, the network would have not ended 8seasons that way!Besides black people have positive endings too!
I support this petition. Put the show back on. There is already a shortage of shows that have black cast members, much less an entire cast. This is only one of a few positive portrayals of blacks and it's disappearing???
And while I know the ratings were slipping, I think it would benefit all if there were better writers assigned to the series. Blacks have just as much fun as the cast of Friends and yet the storylines are so much more inferior

A. D. Clarke
I support this petition. I have been watching Girlfriends since season 1 and all the loyal watchers should atlist get a good finale or the final episodes of this season. Thank you
I support this petition.I have been watching girlfriends for the longest. I remember sitting in front of the t.v every week to see it, i watched it so much that i didnt care if it was a re-run i still watched it. It really hurts my heart to see them come to an end i mean they can still show re-run,but if fans cant have that much please let them do a finale it will please us all thanks.
I support this petition. I would rather the show continue for at leas another season or two. However, if it musy end please give all us fans a good ending.
I support this petition. I live in Toronto Canada and this is by far my favourite TV show. I am currently buying the DVDs and can't get enough. I would love for the show to get renewed for more seasons or at least have a season finally. Girlfriends have always been compared to Sex and the City but at least it had a one hour finale when it ended. The fans of Girlfriends are owed at least that much. So please give this show a proper (one hour) finale (and possibly bring Jill Marie Jones back for the final episode). I plan the buy season 8 on DVD if released, but if there is no proper finale it will feel incomplete.
I support this petition.
I Live in England and girlfriends have been showen over here on a channel called trouble i would love to see girlfriend back till season 10 or for one last episode so please let them have one more chance.
I support this petition and think that if the CW has decided to take it off air then they should at least finish showing the episodes and give it the grand finale that it deserves.
I support this petition.because of lack of good black shows on tv you take them away.and glorif. a white women selling weed , gay men n women making out each week and high society hoes screwing everyone (desp. housewives and sex in the city)and lets not 4get dumd ass reality shows.
I support this petition because,it's not right to get rid of one of the only good all African-American sitcoms we have. Not to be racist but I'm tired of flipping through the channels and all I see is white peeople. That's just my opinion.Girlfriends speaks to so many African-American women in this country.PUT IT BACK ON THE AIR!OR AT LEAST GIVE IT A PROPER SEASON FINALE!!!!
I support this petition. This show needs to be saved. As an African American professional woman, this was my "Sex in the City". The writing, particularly in the earlier years was smart, witty and completely relatable to me. The characters were intelligent lovable, and provided a positive image in both their strength of self and their lovingly woven friendships with one another. To those avid fans, a true absence will be felt with the shows demise. As a loyal fan for 8 years, the show and its fan DESERVE AND HAVE EARNED, at minimum, a well deserved finale.
