I think the show deserves a proper send off. We have seen these ladies go thru the good the bad and they deserve a proper ending. Just like there loyal viewers.
I think the show should have its final goodbye's and give closer to all the open events in there lives. Does Joan get married? Does Lynne's album ever get released? Does Mya and Darnell adopt a baby? These are all open events in their lives we would like to have closer to.
this was a great show. one of my favorites, i am not in the demographic of most who watch this show, i am 29 y/o white female. this is one of the best shows on tv. please bring it back for at least a final farewell if not for more seasons.
This show has proven to stand the test of time and entertain millions for years. I have been a fan since the very beginning and I feel that is only fair that the show be given a proper ending for the fans that supported the show and have grown to care about the characters. Please, atleast give the show its final farewell
I feel that this network wrong for cancel this show. They have other show that are not doing very well, why not cancel those shows too. This country will never let a black program stay on long, which is very wrong. I beleive we the fans of this show deserve better than that.
I can't believe this is being cancelled, this is outrageous, I am so sick of reality shows there is nothing on TV that I can relate to. Why is this happening, can fans get an answer.
It's ridiculous that Mara Brock Akil would allow this to happen! She should be proud of Girlfriends, being one of the longest running black shows. Girlfriends deserves to go out with a bang instead of slipping away quietly. Joan's wedding and the birth of William and Monica's baby would have sent the show out on a very high note!
Girlfriends deserves a real season finale. Fans who have followed it all 8 seasons deserve it. Any other show would recieve a proper sending off. Since this is an african american show it is pushed to the side. This is unacceptable and needs to be resolved.

Its very sad that when we have a successful show on TV it gets canceled because networks believe it will surpass the shows that have an all white cast. Black Shows only are suppose to last so long right........Well we should at least see a proper ending...

I really love the concept of the show and the chemistry of the cast. If you MUST take it off at least give them a well deserved finale....WITH Toni Childs
I love this show, it is the only one of its kind. It depicts african american women in my age group making it happen, they are educated, have jobs, and problems just like me i would be very disappointed to see it go. What will i watch, desparate housewives.. thats a joke, i'm not white and i'm not married, dont take my positive images away.
I am one of the biggest fans of this show...It deserves a proper send off, due to the great actors on the show. BRING TONI CHILDS BACK as well...It is only the right thing to do.
There needs to be a proper ending to the show. Its not fair that the show should just be cancelled without any thought to the many viewers who kept it going for so many years
I always loved GFS, even though I missed a bunch of shows and toni is gone. It is the only African-American show out of 3 still on air that I actually like. Cut this show, we'll only have two. You should cut Everybody hates chris because that show is stupid...just kidding. It's sad..white folks are always cutting our black shows. That's why I watch alot of reality tv shows on MTV and VH1.
Let there be an hour series finale. Let Aaron come home. The American people need that who have loved ones over seas and Joan deserves her wedding. William should have a girl and Maya and Darnell should adopt and Lynn should produce a CD. There isn't that many good shows you have on. The only other thing I watch is the game.
Its a shame that the CW ended one of its better, more mature shows w/o a proper and professional ending. It appears that despite the low ratings and poor programing CW continues to end shows that are actually fan favorites. It is clear that the CW strives to attract the attention of only America's white youth by creating ridiculously DUMB shows where the characters are incredibly dull, lifeless, not relateable to the average intelligent viewer, and most important, WHITE. I suppose Top Model sustains the network as it is the most watched program for the network. Management at CW is clearly lacking, if not non-existent. GF may not have been the most watched show or even have the greatest writing, but it definitely was a jewel among the other *expletive* on the network.
I would be truly disappointed in CW if they did not give a proper send off to this show. They owe that to the faithful views and the outstanding award winning cast. The show friends got a huge send off, why no Girlfriends. I've watch the show grow and now I'd like to be able to see it through to the end. thanks
i have been a fan of this show for the past eight years. i find absolutely insulting that the executives would decide to end the show without giving us a proper finale that other shows receive.
