Ive been watching this show since i was in grade 8. I think its sad that great shows like these get cancelled.. when stupid shows like ''girlicious'' manage to get people watching..
I have supported this show always and i think we the audience deserve a proper ending. it's a complete slap when all other shows have proper send offs.
I believe they should have done a proper series finale. Black shows are always the ones to get cancelled suddenly without a proper ending. I don't think its fair. Their ratings were still good and they had nothing to do with the strike. At least give them a proper finale.
I believe it sucks the way the net work is cancelling the show. It is not their fault there was a strike. We as fans need a proper ending. This is unfair.
I think that Girlfriends should stay on. It is the top show in BLACK households. That has got to stand for something. These women are the only black women on tv who are living successful, healthy, progressive lives. They are women young girls today can look up to and think they can be like that when they grow up. I watch this show faithfully every Monday and Sunday night. Its a good show. You can't stop it now, Monica is pregnant and Lynn is about to blow up in the music biz. This show not only deserves a season finale, but you CW EXECUTIVES need to wake up and keep this show on the air. At least, for the black community. Please.
I was DEEPLY disappointed to hear that the CW was canceling this show and not giving it the proper send off that it DESERVES. To just show the final 2 pre-strike episodes as a series finale and then say AFTER THE FACT that those were the last 2 episodes ever was down right WRONG. Who cares if this was going to be its last season. The TV show Scrubs is in its last season, but it will be coming back after the strike to finish its last season. This is simply unfair and wrong and I hate to say it, but its because Girlfriends is a black show. But black or white it has been a wonderful, smart, and well-written show, that has attracted viewers of ALL types and all of its loyal fans deserve to get a PROPER ending.
at least them have a series finale...Joan needs to get married, william and monica can have the baby, and mya can become pregnant...just dont let end like that...and for an extra spark let Tony come to Joans wedding
It is not fair that we did not have a proper fairwell show. This was one of the best shows on the air. They could have at least waited until Joan got married.
Its a sad day when blacks shows still get treated second rate. Lets be real most of the shows on cw suck- Reaper, Aliens in America come on now! A least let Girlfriends continue their last history making season and top it with a Series Finale.
I've been watching Girlfriends since day one and it's very disappointing that the CW Network has abruptly cancelled the show without a proper sendoff. I had a feeling that once the CW began that they would begin to get rid of predominantly African-American shows. They need to get it together!!!
This show has been part of a my life for years, I dont even want to watch the network anymore because of how they went about this. Girlfriends NEEDS a Series Finale. NO One in my house watches CW network anymore....On another note look @ whats happening with
I have watched these character grow and it would be an absolute shame not to let us, the fans, see Joan get married or Mya and Darnell adopt, or Lynn get right and settled or William and Monica have their baby. This show, us fans deserve to have proper closure to something that has been apart of our lives for seven years. Please give us a proper farewell.
We should at less get a Final show WITH Toni Childs. i have watched this show faithfully until Toni was cut...after that the story lines were ok.....KEEP IT ON or at LESS GIVE US A FINAL SHOW W/All the Girls including TONI
Friends, Seinfeld, Will and Grace. All of these t.v. shows get these big finale shows. Girlfriends is one of the shows that placed the WB/CW on the map. Why are they getting disrespected like the show never existed?
Girlfriends helped to launch the CW. It already had a strong fan base when the network began. The show deserves to have an official and appropriate finale. Not only for the fans, but for the actors, actresses, crew and writers. Without them and the other successful show, the CW may not have flourished. Give them the respect they deserve. Kindness is repaid fully.
A show as long-lasting as Girlfriends deserves a proper send-off, even if its thrown together, a nice resolution would be good. If Toni could return, that'd be great, but no matter what, at least have an episode that feels like its wrapping things up
I feel so cheated that the CW network would take their longest successful show and not give their fans a season finale that we would be at peace with. We didn't get to see Joan's wedding and after 8 seasons of the story line of Joan wanting to get married that is the least they can do for us.
It is really sad that you will not give Girlfriends a proper ending to it's viewers. I love the show and I wish it could on go on 4 years. CW owes us that much.
This show has been on for eight seasons and we as fans of the show and money makers for the network deserve a proper ending!!! So allow them to shoot a show finally like any show that has been on for eight seasons richly deserves.
I love Girlfriends and I've watched the show since the beginning. They cant just end it like this. They need a proper closure. If Friends and Seinfeld can get series finales then Girlfriends can too!!!
This upset me greatly as it was not even presented in advertisement as the series finale. I was not aware of this until 2 days ago. I want my Girlfriends back, we deserve to see Joan finally get married and have a baby and Lynn become successful and take care of her friends and Monica and William welcome their child in a proper manner in a Monica fashion. And Mia will have her career back on top as an author and a baby on board. Give us back our show.
This show deserves the same treatment as its counterpart Sex and the City. Not giving them a proper finale would be an insult to the cast as well as the fans of the show!! Please reconsider and give us a decent ending and a retrospective!!
I am truly disgusted with the CW for ending the show this way. You are cheating the loyal fans of 8 years out of an exciting ending. Completely disappointed with this network
Sure Girlfriends has run its course, but it still deserves a proper finale. To end the show mid-season with out closure is utterly disrespectful to the many fans who have watched this show since Septermber 11, 2000. How can you just yank the series off the air with no finale? That's absurd!
