This March, University of Wisconsin-Madison Professor John Webster plans to conduct a study in which live pigs will be shocked with Taser stun guns.

Using a $500,000 taxpayer-funded grant provided by the U.S. Department of Justice, Dr. Webster will attach electrodes directly to the pigs’ skin and implant catheters near their hearts to measure the voltage of the Taser shocks. He will also use a “super-TASER” device to induce heart arrhythmia and “apply overdoses of cocaine” to the pigs.

What makes the experiment even more outrageous is the fact that similar Taser studies have been conducted with pigs on at least four other occasions.

Experts in the field agree that the best way to determine whether Tasers are safe is through physician-supervised human tests and by studying the medical records of people who suffered adverse affects or died as a result of being stunned by Tasers

Why is this sick docter going to do this experement for a 5th time. If he absolutly has to do this one time is more than enough. He should not be using $500,000 of taxs to torture pigs. All that mony can be used to feed hungry children.

pigs have been my favorite animal for as long as i can remember. using tasers on them to conduct such "experiments" is absurd and cruel. the pigs that will be used are the children, if you will, of another pig. what if someone wanted to test tasers on your children? would you let them? i didn't think so.
