I support this petition. Although I do not live in the United States, research of the type your institution has carried out benefits many of us all over the world. You have already made a huge difference and your work will become increasingly important as our population ages. People will need to continue to use devices they're used to and your work will certainly benifit others in the future.
I support this petition!
I took part in the yearly conference AccessU and I was very happy with the quality and impressed with the knowledge on accessibility gathered in this institute. It is a center of excelence and should stay.
I support this petition. I am both a web developer, who is rather proud of the efforts I make with accessibility, and the Councillor responsible for Health and Social Care in Cardiff, UK. The work of the Accessibility Institute has been critical in improving awareness and practice, and I'd urge reconsideration of the decision to close.
I support this petition. I am a professional working with blind and partially sighted students in Great Britain and am aware of the valuable work done by the Accessibility Institue in Texas.
I support this petition. UUT computing, law, government, psychology, composition and other departments will continue to benefit from accessibility knowledge as will the Austin and wider communities
Please don't take away such a great legacy. At this critical time--what with all the new technologies and accessibility issues being thrust to the forefront of news--the University can't afford to forsake its leadership in accessibility. And we can't afford to lose it.
