Hon President & Hon Prime Minister of India,

We Indian Christians in New Zealand are absolutely dismayed at the violence that has been unleashed by religious fanatic groups on innocent Christians in India. Places of Worship, Hospitals, Orphanages, Schools, Hostels and residences none of these have been spared. It hurts us more as these actions have been targeted on innocents for no reason of their fault. Catholic Sisters have been gang raped in public, many have been killed, houses have been burnt and many of these have happened in the presence of Police. Several representations have been made by several organisations to various heads of the Government and the Courts and yet this barbaric violence against innocent Christians continues unabated. We are appalled at the administration of the Government of India in its inability to bring some order to this situation. Sending troops to the troubled states does not end your responsibility.

May we remind you the Ashoka Chakra in the Indian Flag is also known as Dharma Chakra..... we at this moment beg for your Dharma for our Christian brothers & sisters in India and stop this violence.

We Christians through this petition like to express our disappointment at the way the Government of India has conducted itself in failing to prevent continued Civil & Human Rights Violation against innocent Christians in India.

We condemn the ruling governments of the States where gross violence have been perpetuated against innocent Christians.

Upon gathering your electronic signatures to this petition I suggest that the Indian Christian religious heads in New Zealand along with like minded people hand over this petition to the Indian High Commission at Wellington.

We also remind you that India is a secular country where people of varied religious faiths have co-existed in harmony for a long time. Now with such incidents which are increasing unchecked, it has become questionable whether India is truly secular.
