Soul Food was a critically acclaimed drama about the Joseph family that had a wonderful cast, and the fans of the series want to see Soul Food seasons 2-5 on DVD. Soul Food Season 1 was released on DVD June 2003, and here we are 19 months later and we have yet to see Season 2 released on DVD. What is the hold up? Why would Paramount release season 1 and now leave the Soul Food fans or new Soul Food fans like myself wondering what happens after the car accident in the season finale of “Take me to the Water” from season 1? Are you a person who did not have the Showtime cable station and you bought season 1 of Soul Food on DVD and want to get the other seasons to finish off your collection? Are you a Soul Food fan who did have Showtime, tuned in every week to watch Soul food, but the void of black dramas have you wanting to feed your Soul Food fix and you are ready to add to your TV DVD collection by having Soul Food season 2-5? I really want to see what happens after “Take me to the Water”.

I implore you to contact Paramount with letters or emails to let them know YOU WANT YOUR SOUL FOOD ON DVD. The Soul Food fans have waited long enough! I feel Soul Food deserves the same kind of releases other TV shows on DVD get. The rumor is Soul Food Season 1 did not sell well, and that’s why they have not release season 2 on DVD.

Soul Food is based on the film by George Tillman, Jr. The Soul Food series deals with infidelity, love, change in family, separating, commitment, honesty, The wonderful Soul Food cast included Ahmad (Aaron Meeks), Maxine (Vanessa Williams, Melrose Place, the Cosy Show) and Kenny (Rockmond Dunbar, Girlfriends), Lem (Darrin Dewitt Henson) and Bird (Malinda Williams, High School High, Dancing in September, The Wood) Teri (Nicole Ari Parker, Loving Jezebel), Damon (Boris Kodjoe, Love & Basketball).

If you want your Soul Food please sign the petition and let your voices be heard!!! Write to Paramount and keep writing Paramount to let them know that Soul Foods other seasons must be released on DVD. Please let Paramount know that the Soul Food series has a fan base that’s ready to purchase the remaining seasons of this wonderful show on DVD to add to their growing DVD collection. I know I’m very eager to purchase the remaining seasons so I can watch what happens.

Soul Food had many guest stars Michael Jai White, Debbi Morgan, Mary Alice, Christopher B. Duncan, Djimon Hounsou, James Avery, Richard Roundtree, Tyra Banks, Gary Dourdan, Treach, Terrence Dashon Howard, Diahann Carroll, Usher, Vonde Curis Hall, and Tichinia Arnold to name a few. Irma P. Hall reprises her movie role, but in flash backs and dream sequences that Ahmad has.

Have your friends, and their friends, and so on write Paramount and please let them know about this petition and have them sign the petition. I happen to know that thousands of people tuned in every week to watch Soul Food. With such a huge fan base I have no doubt that if Season 2 were to be released that it would sell quickly.

The fans of soul food not only want to see the subsequent seasons of Soul Food released, but the fans would like to have some extras on the DVD. How about some commentary from the writers, directors and the actors themselves? Deleted scenes or some goof reels would be great.

There are so many TV shows on DVD and after the first season is released within three months you know the next season of the set will be released. X-Files, Sex in the City, Sopranos, Las Vegas, Friends, In Living Color, CSI, CSI Miami Buffy the Vampire Slayer and 21 Jump Street are examples of shows that were released pretty quickly.
