this is definitely the best black show n a long time....not only that, being from toronto, where a lot of the show was filmed and a lot of local actors were cast, it is even more desired, especially to the Canadian crowd. Maybe, Paramount can create special orders or those who want it!!!
I support this petition. It's March 2006 and I just watched the last episode "Take me to the water". I want to know what happens after that accident. I didn't have showtime back in the day.
It's crazy that we have to go through this motion just to get a series that we all enjoy and love to be released on DVD. I am pretty sure that there are a number of shows that haven't even gotten half the ratings as Soul Food and they are released with no hesitation. It's not cool to release the first season and think that we (the fans) will be satisfied. It's incomplete and there is someone who can change that for us. Soul Food had a good run on Showtime and that is because there were people who were watching it every week. It's not fair. If it's such a hassle, why not allow the fans
to pre-order the season if not selling is the "problem". I am a huge fan of this show and I DO want the complete series in it's entirety. Thank You!!!!
I support this petition! I continue to watch Season 1 over and over, hoping Season 2-5 will soon follow. It's really sad we have to go through so much trouble to get such a positive, successful show on DVD. Since it was not extended like 'other' popular shows beyond 5 seasons, the least Paramount can do is put it on DVD.
My sister and I are big fans I went to numerous of site looking for the rest of the season I even e-mailed showtime to get a release date. Why does it take so long for black hit show to come out on DVD this was and still is a hit. If Paramount gives a big promotion like they do every other DVD they release sales rocket through the roof give more promotion to the urban area is what paramount need to do please lets rally together on this one we need to be firm. Season one left me hanging and it's like I must have season's 2-5. They used to show the re runs on BET but they don't even do that anymore. Please release those DVD's. I think I am addicted to Soul Food....
I actually thought season two was out and my girlfriend has been waiting to get it on dvd. I guess I've been wasting my time in video stores... thanks Paramount for lagging behind. I guess they don't wanna make money while the series is still fresh in consumers' minds.
I support this petition. I went out immediately and bought the first season (at the rediculously high price of $72.00 dollars), so PLEASE Paramount, give us a break!. You know very well that mainstream television series do not come out at such a high price, so why such a high price for Soul Food? I paid the price; spent a marathon weekend watching the whole first season, and wham, no second season. Stop being typical narrow minded execs, get off your butts, and get the remaining seasons on the market. And this time try a more reasonable price, rather than setting the sales up for failure!
