I support this petition because it lets me know that I am not the only one who needs to see an african american series that uphold family values and struggle. Please release the final seasons, I am anxiously awaiting to see what happens in the Joseph family next.
I know so many people who want to buy the remaining seasons of Soul Food on DVD, so Paramount are losing out on a lot of money by not releasing it.
I am a journalist in the UK and it's in high demand over here. PLEASE RELEASE IT before there is a negative back-lash
because there is usually not very many positive programmes on TV that will inspire you as a person of colour. Life has it ups and down and often we feel like throwing the towel in, but Soul Food shows how great a good support network, friends and family can be. So come on lets have them...
I can not get cable, so DVDs are all I do. When I heard that Soul Food The Series, the 1st season, was out, I was happy until I saw the price tag. How is it that your other sets cost lower and have equal or more to watch. Leaving us hanging is like giving a whale a tic tac, it just won't work. So please satisfy the craving to see what goes down after the car wreck.
The reason the first season probably didnt sale is that Paramount didnt advertise Soul Food or put it in all department stores like they do all their other series. Me & My husband had to travel to another city to buy Soul Food then it was sold at a much higher price than other series by Paramount. We paid over $90 for Soul Food when other series sold for about $30. I would love to see seasons 2-5 on DVD to add to my collection & find out whats going on with the Joseph sisters. I appreciate the start of this petition so that our voice can be heard.
Just want to know what's the hold up of releasing season 2 of sould on dvd. I've visited many video/dvd outlets for the last 2 years. I am interested ito see what's up in the next upcoming episodes, so please release season two on dvd.
Because Soul Food was one of the best shows on television. If all of these other foolish shows can be sold then why can't a critically acclaimmed show be on DVD. Is this another ploy to keep African Americans from seeing positive images about themselves.
I loved this series when it was on showtime. I hated to see it go. It showed a positive image of the modern african american family instead of the sterotypical things that most of our youth are use to seeing when relating life events to black families(i.e. gangs, violence, unwed teenage mothers, etc.). Many other races have a hard time seeing african americans as anything other than comedians, and it's hard for them to embrace a drama. I absolutely support this petition in every way.
I live in Kenya so am currently watching season 2(and bought season 1 to cover a couple missed episodes of this nightly event), but I'm still anxious to own them all.
