The peace and harmony of the Spalding Corners Swim and Tennis Community is being compromised due to recent changes approved by the Board of Directors of the Spalding Corners Swim and Tennis Club. The changes have divided several club members, many of whom do not have all the facts needed to make an informed decision.

We, as current and continued club members, are committed to the Spalding Corners Swim and Tennis Community. We the undersigned are requesting a special meeting of the membership through the Board of Directors of the Spalding Corners Swim and Tennis Club to be held during the month of June 2006 at a location (TBD) to discuss the following items:

Background:
Over the last several years, the entire pool has been open to club members starting at 11AM Monday through Friday. This year, a proposed change to opening at 12 noon was denied. The pool will remain open at 11AM; however club members will only have access to 1 lane while the other lanes will be used by the swim team.

1. What are the facts/reasons for/behind the decision to restrict pool access to club members?

2. What kinds of protection/rights do club members have if the board decides to further restrict pool access to club members in the future?

3. Are there/can there be specific rules and published hours regarding the access/use of the swimming pool for club members within the Spalding Corners Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws, Amendments, Rules or Regulations? (There are detailed rules and regulations including specific access/use hours for the tennis courts. This also includes specific rules for tennis teams such as ALTA and USTA)

4. According to FY 2005 membership statistics, there are approximately 110 paying club members. How many members participate in swim team (The Sharks) activities?

5. How many total swim team (The Sharks) members are there? What is the split between club members versus non-club members?

6. Do the Spalding Corners Swim and Tennis Community receive any financial contributions from the swim team (The Sharks) in order to use the swim facilities?

7. What is the process to have the board review the current hours for pool access to club members for the upcoming months of July, August and September? (Requests have been made to open the pool at 10 AM)

8. What is the appropriate process for club members to request a change or amendment to rules and regulations when there is a grievance?
