Pharmacists Taking a Stand for Patients
Published August 10, 2010
What do pharmacists exist for if not to protect patients from medication harm?

For too long, pharmacists have let the breadth of their knowledge go to waste, and this has come at a tremendous cost.

According to Phillips et al, by the end of 2004, an average of 34 Americans were being killed in their home each day by a preventable medication problem.

It's time for this to stop. It's time for pharmacists to take a stand for patients and demand that their knowledge be put to better use. It's time for us to let the world know that it's NOT ok for patients to pick up a new prescription without receiving a quality consultation from a pharmacist.

If you would like to join me in taking a stand for patients, please take a moment & add your name to this online petition. If you would like to receive more information about what the non-profit Pharmacy Foundation of California is doing to fight medication errors, and how you can join our fight, please also include your email address.

THANK YOU for taking a stand,
