it's time for the advertisers that support the right wing noise machine to recognize that these people are extermists who don't represent the majority of thought and belief in the country.

the 'fairness' doctrine must be enforced on the publically owned ariways. If a station carries a Hannity they must carry an different view for an equal amount of time.

Right-wing radio, the Fox Noise Channel, and a cowed MSM that refuses to report "the truth and nothing but the truth" are second in danger to this nation just behind the Iraq occupation and terrorism. The terrorism inflicted by right-wing media and the ChristoFascist Zombie Brigades on the American public are tantamount to treason! Imus was wrong but in no way does he threaten America like the state of our current media to distort, obfuscate, apologize, and cowtow to a corrupt, evil, murdering, and prevaricating Bush/Cheney administration brought to us by the Republican Party.

The slanderous trampling of character that is continually broadcast from conservative talk shows bigots such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, is an injustice to the American principle of fair-and-truthful reporting ..... not to mention the neo-consertative religious opportunists, the reverends Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, and Chuck Colson, James Dobson and the likes that also degrade In The Name Of God the personal character of individuals with opposing views towards the corporate imperial "trusted leadership" of the world. In the sinning beliefs they behold upon themselves, these poor hopeless souls seem to be beyond salvation for the torture that awaits them.

here's an idea said 04/14/07, 3:59 am (verified)
How about we stop hate cable tv news channels by demanding that they fire anyone who works for them who calls someone a racist without having actual proof to back that claim up? That is a form of hate speech that's on every channel and if they had to fire every cable news employee who said such garbage on the air then every liberal media pundit in the nation would be out of a job. If we applied that standard further so as to make it apply to politicians then the Democratic party would finally and mercifully cease to be.

CBS!!!! ^^ Imus worked for the Dan Rather network so your little cop out doesn't quite work so well. And Sharpton and Jackson are two of the biggest fucking idiots I've ever heard of. The term feminazi is actually a very accurate description of feminists. The founder of planned parenthood,MargaretSanger ,was a propenent of the Nazi eugenics program. She actually wanted forced abortions for ethnic minorities and poor people. 60's feminist Gloria Steinem was actually on the CIA's payroll. Both were card carrying members of the communist party. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are racists against blacks if they want to actually censor what they say in their music. You could point at lots of white artists too and say that they are saying some unsavory things too. What's next Hollywood? ^You can bet your bottom dollar that censorship will stop at their doorstep because their rich white asses will scream and cry when they try censoring them. But let's look at filthy white sluts from Madonna on down to Britney. And lets' also look at heavy metal. There's lots of shit out there that serves no meaningful purpose and is harsh and over the line. The question is who gets to set the line? Sharpton and Jackson who themselves have used hate speech before? That would be gay. Infact censorship would be gay. The market place should decide and by that I mean it's up to the people to not purchase any of this shitmusic and thus perpetuate this crap. And it's also up to the people to realise why it's up to them and that they have a responsibility to make more intelligent choices because there is an agenda at work here designed to undermine our freedom of speech and it is this evil agenda which helps to make this vulgar shit popular in the first fucking place so that they have something to point at and call inapropriate and thus give them the green ligh

Firing Imus is just fanning the fires. What he said was bad but there are others who in my opinion are just as bad and worse, i.e. Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity, for starters. Firing Imus just causes more divisiveness among the public which is the last thning we need at this time.

I am a woman who worked in radio back in 1979. I knew then that this raping of the Federal Communications Act would be bad for women and minorities. But never did I think it would allow these hate-mongers with a political agenda (supported by the Republican Party) to get as much attention as they have. Let's go back to fairness and decency in broadcasting. We, the people, own the airwaves. We own the devolution of our property. Let's get back to an honest conversation on the airwaves of our democracy -- not this hijacked spew that has a secret agenda.

I cannot listen to talk radio in my town (Boston) because all talk radio (24 hours/day) is filled with commentators/radio hosts whose views truly are the views of white supremacists. Don’t take my word for it; listen to random tapes of Michael Savage for the last several years, Rush Limbaugh, and on and on. They feed their audience disinformation and violent commentary that obscures the fact that what they are stating is absolute dog poop. It’s a real shame and disgrace that in 2007 our elite (powerful) citizens as represented by the CEO’s and suits at these various media conglomerates subject this kind of trash to the general public. I’ve come to the conclusion that these same CEO’s of these giants of industry truly hate the American people.
