Dear G8 Leader,

The country of Zimbabwe is being crushed in the grip of a cruel dictator, President Robert Gabriel Mugabe. So bad is the economic situation that inflation is 700%, women are unable to get sanitary pads (and when they can, they are up to USD$5.00 for one packet), workers who toil all day make the equivalent of USD$25.00 a month, and the unemployment rate is 80%.
The global eye only seems to fall on Zimbabwe when there are key events happening, but this is an ongoing problem. A problem that YOU the leaders of nations with influence can help solve. Zimbabwe is not a country high on the global agenda and it is time for the people who make up the nations YOU lead to tell you that something needs to be done.
Stop the dictatorship!
President Mugabe has withdrawn from the Common Wealth, has expelled white owners of farms in his land-reform program (that all the G8 Leaders condemmed), has executed operation "Clear out the rubbish" where he destroyed road side businesses and housing in the hopes of driving the people to buy in government owned stores, has used his youth malitia (The Green Bombers) to strike fear into the hearts of the poor to swing their votes in favour of the ruling party, and has openly defied the Western World blaming it for the economic crisis Zimbabwe now suffers.

It is time for you to stand up and stop remaining silent! It is time for you to do something about the pain and suffering! It is time for you to take responsibility and make the difference in the lives of millions of Zimbabaweans who have forgotten what it is like to vote freely and be content. It is time for change.
