Its all been said below. "Superbikes"is a lowest common denominator show. It shed a large light on a very small percentage of the riders involved in our sport. Degenerates and Hooligans went out a long time ago but this brings the attitude back into light. On the other hand Two Wheel Tuesday prought out the good side of our sport, legal racing, safety as a priority and news from the current season. I assume that is why you canceled it because you can't replay it for the next two years without the info becoming outdated. It is sad to see the really GOOD shows cancelled for dribble like this.
nice job giving the crappy part of this wonderful sport the spotlight. now they think it's okay to act like idiots...because you idiots put them on tv.
Rossi Morrielli is an idiot, who cant ride a wheelie on someone elses bike with safey mechanisms in free leathers? Those idiots on the show from NYC, and then west coast, make all streetbike riders look like highschool dropouts. If it wasnt for the lack of any sort of motorcycle stuff on TV I would never have watched the show as long as I did. And oh yeah, Jason Britton, way to ruin a brand new Ducati, ever heard of engine break-in?
I agree and support this post. Showing and promoting aggressive street riding is making us responsable ones look bad. I enjoy my street bike but people are getting the wrong idea about the whole sport. R1s are getting hard and expensive to insure!!
This show does nothing but cast a negative image of all sportbike riders as reckless stunters. Not all of us pride ourselves on how many broken bones we've gotten from doing stupid tricks.
Agreed with most of the rest - your show covers a very narrow scope of the sportbike world. There are some of us who have been riding sportbikes for 15 or 20 years and enjoy the ride itself and are not like some of the stupid kids you put on your show. Please expand your scope to include those of us who ride for the ride, and not for the stupidity. If you must ride even naked - ALWAYS wear a helmet and gloves... no exceptions, ever.
I support this petition. While some of the group ride activities show good judgement, the vast majority glorifies stunting on public roads and gives motorcyclists in general a black eye.
The stunting segment of motorcycling is what has been giving motorcycling a bad name. Now it is put in front of america with people breaking the law every after each commerical break. This type of press is not needed by the motorcycling community.
because it is just another step in the wrong direction this country is taking with all these liberal tactics not to mention it falsely represents this community.
because I have a hard enough time fighting this stereotype at work and on my daily commute. I don't need national television to make my commute hours that much more dangerous. From the espisodes I have seen, Superbikes on Speed is pure rubbish and only promotes poor riding, poor decision making, and piss poor one sided-ness.
Boomer
The show SuperBikes is a very poor portrayal of the sportbike community. Most of the shows pertray it as some sort of THUGLIFE, bottom of society JOKE! I doubt half of the people on the show that was done in NY even have jobs. Hell they couldn't even speak proper English!! Don't anybody want to see that stuff. We DEFINATELY don't want non-riders to see that stuff! This show is broadcasting the side of sportbikes that the people of the world dislike and we don't need them any more pissed off at us than most of them already are. If you're doing a show on sportbikes, do it right!
The irresponsible actions that are depicted on public roads make everyone on sportbikes look like squids. Not all sportbike riders do the kind of stupid stuff that this show is full of. Once in awhile they show something that is good, but not very often....
I have a hard enough time fightiung this stereotype at work and on my daily commute. I don't need national television to make my commute more dangerous. Superbikes on Speed is pure trash and only promotes poor riding and poor decision making.
Interestingly enough, I don't think this show appeals to anyone who really rides. Even some of the people on the show seem embarrassed. It's completely contrived and manufactured... it doesn't represent true bike culture and only sends the wrong message. I have nothing against stunters, in fact, I am impressed with what they are capable of... but only in a controlled environment. Will someone please do a real show on motorcycling? Anyone? Anyone?
Speed: Please focus your attention on shows that teach & inform watchers and that will draw new people to the sport rather than drive them away with what appears to be reckless stereotypes. Stunting is OK and Jason B. is amazing on a bike but that should be a segment on show rather than a series that purports to represent the Sport Bike Community. Bring back Two Wheel Tuesday, PLEASE!
There is so much more to sport bikes that this show doesn't show. There are dozens of shows showing choppers and just this one to show sport bikes, at least show sport bikes in a good light.
I support this petition because I am a motorcyclist with many interests. Asinteresting as stunt riding is, it still does notbring in the interest of the masses for thefurthering of the Speed Channel's objective[and ours as motorcyclists]: to draw as manyviewers/sponsors to the entire sport ofmotocycling. It would be nice to keep abreast ofracing/happenings in the overall sport of motorcycling via shows like,.....Two Wheel Tues.! Two wheel tuesday was the most informative and pro motorcyle show ever aired. Bring it back !!!!
The media reinforcing stereotypes does not help. The show is an embarrasment. Drunk Harley riders with tatoos get better press, eventhough they all are not that way...get it??
becuause it portrays the motorcycling community in a negative light. I support a change of format for the show. As a rider, instructor, racer, and member of the industry, I was disappointed in the show.
The new show is just plain dumb. The "undeground" of sportbikes is not something the general public should be seeing because they will associate all those things with anyone that rides a sportbike. The majority of people that ride a sportbike is not a dumb squid who likes to stunt.
The show depicts the sport bike community as people who just want to go out and raise cain. I for one enjoy the part of riding the show doesn't depict. The time spent riding with friends having a good time talking and pushing yourself mentally and phisically. Not trying to see how far you can push before you get hurt.
This show gives a very bad perception of how the sportbike community is. It is a shame how a few selected people ruin sport. I support this petition, get your fact straight.
I can't believe that this show might go across the US from city to city just showing stunt riders.
Its kind of one sided and shows only the negative aspects of sport riding. Track riders are hardly shown, urban street bike clubs seem to be the only focus of the show.
The show only serves to give insurance companies more reasons to raise the already inflated rates of our sportbike insurance premiums.

this community does not need the negative light that your show shines down upon. the world hates sportbike people enough. either portray us in a positive light, or leave us alone all together
