because it is passed time. Not having a public transportation is a shame on
our whole community. |

Approving public transportation in Arlington is an act of social justice
and compassion for those less fortunate. I work for MHMR, and we have
clients that walk extremely long distances (in the heat and in the cold)to
make it to their appointments. Others are not physically capable of doing
this, and transportation problems may prevent them from getting the
treatment they need. Homeless individuals in Arlington may want to go to
work and get back on their feet, but how are they supposed to get to work
if they have no transportation? Approving public transportation will not
bring more "lower class" individuals to the city, it will provide
a way for the ones who are living on the streets the possibility of
improving their situations. It is incredibly dissappointing that the people
of Arlington will vote "yes" for a new stadium and "no"
to an act of compassion that will provide the less fortunate members of our
city hope for better future. |

The community of Arlington has long needed a transportation system to meet
the needs of our richly diverse community, families, and children. All
people should be able to have access to transportation not just those
fortunate enough to have enough money to have a car. This community has
long needed this important community resource. |

because we live in a country that brags on how everyone in America has an
equal opportunity to succeed... unless you can't afford to buy a car to
drive to a job that pays better. It is ridiculous that we would prohibit
this service from entering our community when it is so needed. |
