Your Government very well know that the May 15, 2005 election was totallly rigged by the Government through their agents NEBE (National Election Board of Ethiopia). Remember todays refugees have the potential of becoming leaders of their country too. My God help you to soften your hearts towards my fellow Ethiopian refugees.

please for the sake of God, change your mind. Deporting these imigrants to the country whose undemocratic government leadership demonstrated by killing of whose peaceful unarmed innocent civilians is by any standard of measurement not fair. If you do so this affects your countries long stayed history of stand for democracy of human rights. Because act of deporting some one who is seeking assylm in order to save his live at least the next peaceful & secured day both crulity & inhuman. Hence let those Ethiopians stay in your democratic country, like Ethiopia lets the Somali & Sudan peoples.
Had Ethiopians Living in Switzerland have had a peaceful country ,democratically governed country ,they wouldn’t have left their country for no other place in the world. They are so attached to the land to the culture no worldly treasure would have tempted theme to leave their beloved country. But because their very existence have been threatened they had to abandoned the country the love and their families behind and cross borders for the unknown. Some have not made it to the border let alone to other country—they simply perished. Those lucky enough to get at the doors of the bacons of democracy they thought things will be different. Although there are exceptions , in most cases countries who preach human right and democracy to others have been the least to practices it , especially if the right of people in question happen to be different from their own. This unparalleled suffering by Ethiopians in Switzerland, in a country that proud it self the advocate of human right allover the world , is very sickening to say the list. We Ethiopians who live all around the world are hopeful that Switzerland authorities would o hold on to the image their country is know for: the champion of human right: Thus we ask the Switzerland authorities to threat Ethiopian with international human right agreement Switzerland has signed give Ethiopians the protection they deserve. Those right are well respected not in advanced country like Switzerland but also in less advanced countries that have started nurturing democratic way of life. Switzerland can not afford to do less.

I strongly oppose what the swiss government is about to do with regard to the deportation of Ethiopians refugees living in Switzerland specially at this time when goverment harrasement and killings is so severe.
To deport nad hand over political assylum seekers to a regime which is killing its own people is both inhuman and against civillzed way of doing things.
By the time when thousands are detained and dozens killed for exercising their right, sendining the same Ethiopians who were lucky to escape a preveous such event back to their country is contrary to what Swiss Fundamental principle of valuing Human life.

We would like to ensure the rights allowed to all peoples by the Geneva Convention. We ask of you to grant the people of Ethiopia be granted asylum in your country. The people of Ethiopia came together and united last month in Bern and Geneva to stand against the ruling government. Their names and photos were broadcast all over the Ethiopian television, radio and internet sites across the world. Do you think the current government will allow them to as peaceful Ethiopian citizens? Is that freedom of speech? Forty students were killed at Addis University last month because of a demonstration. How the Swiss government decide in this matter will adversely effect Ethiopian struggle for democracy. It is not imperative at this time to return our brothers and sisters to the dictatorial regime in Addis Ababa.
We beg that you will consider our requests to grant us the opportunity to reside in Swiss until our country is safe for us and for all Ethiopian citizens. This letter seriously reflects on all the matters we have raised.
I have been in Switzerland a few times in the past and seen how brutal and inhuman the government of switzerland is when it comes to immigrants, especially Ethiopians and Other African immigrants. I urge International Human right groups to investigate this gross human right violetion as they often do in other third world nations and reveal Swiss hypocracy to the world.
Please do not deport them. It contravenes all human and spiritual laws to knowingly put someone in harm's way. If they cannot express themselves peacefull in a democratic society where else can they? Let them stay. The Swiss have a history of being a safe harbour against persecution, do not do something that will tarnish that noble tradition.
Right now the most persecuted people in the word are ETHIOPIANS !!!! Be assured that if these people are returned either they would be detained or persecuted !! Ethiopians are at cross roads !! I believe that the Swiss government knows very well about the political situation in Ethiopia. I am convinced that they know EPRDF regime is not democratic. People are harassing, displacing, disappearing and killing by the brutal dictatorial regime and its authorities. Many Ethiopians are forcing to leave the country daily.
I urge the Switzerland government not to sell Ethiopian refugees to Meles regime. Meles will kill imprison and displace those people whom he mentioned them as an enemy. But to give fair trail, the right to be represented by lawyers, and right to have interpreters by appearing in court.

The swiss government should think over his decision. These asylum seekers are facing death if they are sent back. The government wants to take them back to revenge them, as it thinks they were part of the protest demonstration against the government through out the world.
