We can not ignore any more the plights of Ethiopian people. The ruling government is bending backwards to destroy the lives of innocent civilians which was demonstrated in the violence that took place due to the irregularities of May 2005 Election. We can no longer ignore the appalling human rights abuse as perpetrated by the ruling government since it came to power. Enough is enough we Ethiopians in the Diaspora shall continue with our peaceful fights to liberate the Ethiopian people from dictatorship. We kindly ask the Switzerland government to respect the international human rights and to safeguard and protect the people of Ethiopian who sought asylum in your country and are currently awaiting deportation. We trust in you and we have confidence in your ability to decide justly the fate of Ethiopian people currently under your protection. Please do not disappoint us, you have the moral and international obligations to look after those in need.

I srongly oppose the Swiss authorities collective decission or denial of refugee status to ethiopian refugees. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948, is a statement of the basic rights and fundamental freedoms owed to all human beings. As Switzerland is one of the ratifiers of this law, they should respect it. The refugee law is internationally recognised as a cornerstone of human rights protection. Article 14.1 states, "Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution." As this principle is at the root of refugee rights world-wide, and forms the basis of the 1951 UN Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, it should be taken seriously and dealt with. Just because same puppet regimes like the ethiopian ones are hand in hand with western contries, the industralized countris shouldn't deny the right for refugee status. As we all know international human rights organizations are strongly criticizing the ethiopian government for its massive human rights violation and violation of freedom of expression, movement and so on. Let the Swiss authorities rethink their wrong decission (if they already did) and see the case of ethiopian refugees again. Let all human beings be equal infront of the law and let they not be judged by their colour or countries of origin. Let the Geneva convention be respected by all ratifiers. Let us we refugees too try to expose the human rights violations in Ethiopia to all government and non- governments organizations and let the truth be on the side of the ethiopian refugees and let they be granted refugee status. Since the year 1991,it has been difficult for Ethiopian asylum seekers to get accepted in Europe or America.The reason,a friendly foreign policy towards Meles`s regime by almost all European countries and the USA.I hope things will change,and our brothers and sisters in Switzerland will get all the protection they deserve and be accepted in the Switzerland society.

I can not believe how the swis government would like to hand over these people to a government that killed 40 student demonestrators, injured over 100 and prsioned over 4000. This will be a gross violation of the United Nations Charter of human rights.

It is obvious that Melese would do any deal to get money from any western government.
I personally pledge the swiss government to assess the situation in Ethiopia and what the ruling party is doing in the country. The Prime Minister is lying to Ethiopian people let alone to the swiss government.

The brutal regiem of meles zenawi promissed to accept the Ethiopians asylum seekers is not genuine except revenging them through mass killing. Therefore the peacelovin Swiss government sall realise and reconsidere this reality and stop forcefull deportation of Ethiopians back home.
I do not understand why the west are blindly supporting EPRDF strategy.A strategy to wipe out from the entire world all Ethiopians who love their country (Like Natsi did on Jews).
