It is disturbing that the Hollister company has a buyer or person somewhere who approved the purchase of t-shirts delivering messages that exploit our youth. More distressing, however, is that when asked to re-think this youth-targeted store merchandise, you still didn't understand the negative reinforcement and influence your choice to keep the stock in the store has on youth. Bad decision making skills, I presume. Is it that hard to make an honest buck anymore without targeting young impressionable kids with provocative adult messages? It's time to go back to the drawing board and sketch a new responsible leader merchandise plan!

Ginny Shaller said 12/04/06, 6:30 pm (verified)
Please realize that Hollister's is being irresponsible by selling t-shirts with inappropriate messages/images for teenagers. I ask that you be a responsible corporate citizen. You are not being responsible to your stockholders or the community when you promote negative messages.

Very few teenagers actually drink and have sex but many of them wear these demoralizing shirts because they are in style. More stores should sell t-shirts that inspire youth instead of tearing down their morals.

Have some self respect. Think about what message you are sending to new people you meet when you are wearing one of these T-shirts; it's not a good one.
#226

PJ Phelps said 12/01/06, 6:59 pm (verified)
Society has become too disrespectful. T-shirts that promote more disrespect is wrong. Employers complain they can not find good employees these days. What do employers expect when the sell items that encourage people/teens to be disrespectful. Keep selling out morality for an increase in corporate profits and see what you get. Here is proof that you reap what you sow.

It is time that these companies listen. So many people think ALL young people are doing drugs and are sexually active. Listen to them they are much smarter than most people think, sit down and build a relationship with these GREAT youth it'll be a treat for both, and they'll receive value from you in the process. To those of you that are fighting this for your future dignity. I'll pray that all your time and efforts will be shared throughout our great country. God Bless
