Telus Communictions has chosen to enter the Pornography Distribution market by offering pornographic downloads and streaming content to your cell phone. They provide only basic protection measures to ensure minors do not access this material.
Telecommunications Giants like Telus should not be allowed to profit from the Adult Entertainment business through their monopoly in communications. In British Columbia/Alberta Telus is the premium supplier for cell phone service. If you need a reliable cell phone in BC/Alberta Telus is the best (some say only) game. Unfortunately they are forcing regular users to support the Pornography Industry by buying even basic sell phone service from them.
I started this petition because I have a 3 year contract with them and was not consulted in regards to this. I do NOT want to pay for the Pornoghraphy industry to thrive in any fashion, but am now under contract to do so. I think this is underhanded, and should be changed. If you agree please sign this petition.

This is so stupid. How on earth do you think you're going to profit from it??

Telus is very irresponsible in providing service that deals with pornography. Please remove this service, as it is degrading to all humankind.

We know of several marriages almost destroyed by porn. This will make it even more accessible and wreck more families. Not a family friendly move on the part of Telus. Drinking isn't allowed in public, but looking at porn is? I think it's a very bad idea! All because "it's going to happen sooner or later" doesn't mean we should silently watch it happen.

I'm so glad I'm not with Telus. This is awful.

I dont actually support this. But obviously it shows how narrowminded this petition is, that you actually have to support it to post your opinion. If you dont support it dont look at it you do have a choice in your life. Other providers offer it because you can just browse the web and pop onto any ponr site. Also they will not be far behind TELUS's decision. Out of the few people who wine and cry over this. No one notices the good TELUS has done, people thrive on negativity, and that is all the people that are canceling. This is something that all providers "I Garuntee" will follow in suit. So you might as wel buy some real dark blinds and lock your self in your apartment, and only come out to get food and water.

As a long-time (and maybe ex) shareholder and once proud to be, I am devastated.

This service will only serve to continue "the explotation of the vulnerbale". Telus does not have my support, therefore I choose Rogers. My land line now has options, therefore I will switch to Shaw. Rest assured the other companies will not be far behind as it would make good business sense, eh? WE HAVE A VOICE NOW AND THEREFORE LET'S USE IT. SAY NO TO PORNOGRAPHY ON THE INTERNET.

We were thinking of switching to Telus but we absolutely will not be now.

This is a sad commentary on the status of our culture. What is it that needs to change so that we might not have to sign any more of these petitions?

I would be opposed to this kind of service, er, rather, disservice.

I agree with the previous signee all the way. Even if I thought it was okay for Teleus to do this, it would be almost impossible for them to take "protection measures" that would work. After hearing about them, I would not use their service in a million years.

I am glad NOT to support Telus by having a contract with Fido. However, if this is accepted then how long will it be before others jump on the pornography provider bandwagon under the guise of 'freedom of choice'. Keep the phone companies selling phone services, it's getting ridiculous how companies will diversify & waterdown their branding in order to be all things to all people for the sake of profit. The desire for pornography by Telus customers is definately not a in the interest of the majority of their clientele, so wht offer a service to such a small select few who want it? It's time for Telus to curb their greed and show responsibility for their company. Their future is questionable (you reap what you sew)

My contract with Telus states that I shall not use the service to transmit inapproriate or obscene material!" (paragraph 5) Double Standard or Change of Terms to Contract!!?? Also, if judges don't allow sex offenders to view pornography when in half-way houses, desn't that tell you how harmful pornography is! Let's try to purge the system of this scourge!

This is far from being just another neutral "product" like e.g. an internet lite package. This is something with the potential to entrap men and hurt their marriages and families. I will be looking for a more ethical and thoughtful alternative to Telus.

I am disgusted at the attitude that says, "They are doing it anyway, we may as well give it to them and make money off of it." Perhaps they should also have cell phones come with a list of regional drug dealers, maybe prostitutes as well. People are doing it anyway, they may as well make money off of it. I dumped Telus a while ago and am now even more thankful I did.

Hey Telus. Do what is right and quit thinking of your pocket book. Many families and family men don't need in thier lives. Be a leader, do the right thing, and be a leader.
