8 Jun 2005 - 10:42    GAIL ZURAWSKI : ACTUAL ONER OF DOG SHOULD GET SOME RESIDUAL AS THEY HAD PROBABLY PLANNED ON BREEDING HIM
8 Jun 2005 - 11:15    Judy Lapham : I was amazed to read this letter and realize that AKC does not plan to suspend this individual! Ms. Hedlund certainly exhibited conduct prejudicial to the sport of purebred dogs when she neutered Clipper, much less stole him! As a professional involved in animal care, I have always taken issue with some of AKC's policies (e.g. disregarding certain health issues that really should be explored before a dog is deemed a "champion" of a certain breed), and this decision only proves to reinforce my concern that AKC does not have its priorities in line when making impacting decisions like this. I really have to question the integrity of those in the decision making capacity at AKC. Please take the time to reexamine this issue.
8 Jun 2005 - 17:51    Marti Hendricks : Suspend all privileges for her conduct. Will the AKC allow theft to become part of it's core value's?
8 Jun 2005 - 18:40    Helen Ingher :
8 Jun 2005 - 19:23    Karen K. Fore : Anyone found guilty of commiting a criminal act in which dogs are involved should be suspended from AKC privileges. It can endanger others and their dogs who participate in the sport if such a criminal is allowed to remain in the Sport of Dogs.
8 Jun 2005 - 19:25    Robert L. Fore : Clover Hedlund should be suspended from AKC privileges. She is a criminal. Her activities may affect my own safety and that of my dogs.
8 Jun 2005 - 19:29    Jacqualine Owens : The Hedlund situation is shocking. AKC privileges should be taken away permanetly.
8 Jun 2005 - 20:59    Muriel Anderson : AKC MUST take action on this problem. Clover Hedlund deserves suspension for what she has done to a valuable French Bulldog. Please take the time to re-examine your original decision on this problem.
8 Jun 2005 - 21:07    Lisa Olsson : :(
8 Jun 2005 - 21:37    Louise Fournier Perry : AKC privileges should be suspended immediately! Criminal acts, which include animals, should be enough to warrant this action!!
8 Jun 2005 - 23:34    Catherine Doyle :
8 Jun 2005 - 23:46    Fredrick Lawrence : AKC suspensions should not be limited to animal cruelty. The act of animal theft should be justification for serious discipline by the AKC. I would be interested in knowing just what the AKC considers grounds for suspensions. If this is not, then it must be next to impossible to be suspended from the AKC!
9 Jun 2005 - 1:06    Laura Weatherford : Suspending this man should have been an automatic reaction considering his crimes involving registered animals. AKC's bylaws must be amended immediately if they wish to remain a viable and credible organization.
9 Jun 2005 - 1:15    Kathy Clayton : A person can be suspended for dirtying a motel room. (Not that I think this is wrong, it should be done), but a criminal act like this theft and neutering is allowed???? The former looses income for AKC, but our dogs that we've paid to show and enter are at risk and we are not protected??? Shame on AKC for not acting to safeguard or dogs.

9 Jun 2005 - 4:32    Sigrid J. Treat :
9 Jun 2005 - 5:37    sally allen : I have always been amazed by the concept of a dog registry; AKC, UKC, NGA...so powerful and so intrusive, yet...so impotent. Forget cuelty... what happened to good sportsmanship and the desire to benefit purebred dogs? Felony theft is OK? Felony theft of an AKC Champion? This just isn't right.
9 Jun 2005 - 8:00    Carolyn Simpson :
9 Jun 2005 - 11:52    bev Anderson :
9 Jun 2005 - 11:55    Patty Locktov :
9 Jun 2005 - 12:16    Joyce Mitchell : The refusal of AKC to suspend privileges of Ms. Hedlund is totally unbelievable. If her actions don't constitute a threat to the sport and to dogs, I cannot imagine what would. Not just to commit acriminal act to take someone's dog for an extended period of time but to NEUTER that valuable animal? That is pretty abusive to both animal and owner in my estimation. Please reconsider your stance on this matter!!!
9 Jun 2005 - 12:29    Cheryl DeVore :
9 Jun 2005 - 14:04    Lesley Sailor :
9 Jun 2005 - 18:32    Brooke Bikneris :
9 Jun 2005 - 18:33    Michele Yeazel :
9 Jun 2005 - 18:42    Christine Crum : It's bad enough that we have to be aware of everything around us at AKC shows because thieves who steal purses and such attend the shows. However, it's horrifying to know that AKC would allow a KNOWN AND CONVICTED thief to not only attend but participate in the shows. Ms. Hedlund's privileges should be suspended permanently. I fail to understand your allegence to a criminal.
9 Jun 2005 - 18:50    Stephanie Flores : The lack of action by the AKC in this matter is giving a stamp of approval to criminals that stealing valuable dogs because of a personnal grudge won't affect their AKC privileges. This is counter productive to the image that AKC has been trying to put out to the media for the past few years. Had I been in the place of Ms. Alford, I would be working for a lifetime suspension. The mental duress and cost that she must have incurred in this matter is cruelty. Please reconsider your position.
9 Jun 2005 - 19:06    Kim Bloomquist : Unfortunately, this happens too often, not just the theft of a valuable show/breeding animal, but AKC's refusal to act according to its own set of rules! Shame on you AKC.
9 Jun 2005 - 19:09    Dana White : Funny, I can't become an AKC CGC Evaluator if I have comitted a Felony but I can still show dogs after I steal and neuter an AKC Champion...hmm.
9 Jun 2005 - 19:16    Pam Stephenson : I cannot begin to understand your reasoning! Please reconsider your position.
9 Jun 2005 - 19:20    Vangie Bogner :
9 Jun 2005 - 19:24    Karen Burnett : Clover Hedlund should be suspended from AKC privileges. She is a criminal. It suprises me the AKC would condone her behavior and by not taking action against her that is exactly what you have done.
9 Jun 2005 - 19:24    Melissa Ekis : :(
9 Jun 2005 - 19:26    Dina Becnel :
9 Jun 2005 - 19:33    Dot Bryant : I cannot see why AKC is not suspending this person.. This is happening more and more with dogs being taken at shows. It has got to stop, and taking action against this person, may make another person think twice before doing the same act.
9 Jun 2005 - 19:44    Nancy Sue Wainwright : Is this how AKC promotes the sport of dogs and fosters good sportsmanship? Clover Hedlund should be permanently barred from ALL AKC privliges immediately!
9 Jun 2005 - 19:45    Cheryl Crompton : This should have been an easy case to decide.
9 Jun 2005 - 19:46    Lyndy Jacob : I really can't believe AKC is that hard up for money to allow this woman to still show SHAME ON YOU!
9 Jun 2005 - 19:47    Marlene Wilson :
9 Jun 2005 - 19:48    Margaret J. Kates :
9 Jun 2005 - 19:52    Donna Rommelfaenger :
9 Jun 2005 - 19:53    Deborah Marshall : Simply unbelievable that AKC chooses not to pursue suspension in this case!!

9 Jun 2005 - 19:58    Pam Bohn :
9 Jun 2005 - 20:02    Frank J. Farkas Sr. : Ms.Hedlund broke the law. She should be dealt with accordingly
