13 Jun 2005 - 11:46    Joanne Holt : This is the second time this week I have heard of an AKC Judge braking AKC's rules. Nothing is done. What is going on at AKC?
13 Jun 2005 - 12:04    Barbara Murray : I'm disappointed with AKC's inaction in this case.
13 Jun 2005 - 12:42    N. DeNike :
13 Jun 2005 - 13:03    Lani McKennon : This is NOT the way to improve breeding stock, or benefit the breed specifically.
13 Jun 2005 - 13:25    Cheryl Okosun : I was suspect of the AKC playing politics. Now I know for sure. How can you condone her theft and neutering and allow her to continue to participate in AKC??? Your organization's credibility has hit a new LOW..shame on you!
13 Jun 2005 - 15:05    Teresa S :
13 Jun 2005 - 15:59    Christopher Carson : This is a sad state of affairs to hear about. I can't understand suspension of lesser offenses, but not for felony theft and damage to property. Besides this, what could be more cruel to the animal and the owner than to deprive the pair of potential future champions. Shame on AKC for not taking action on such a heinus disrespect of another members rights or infringement thereof.
13 Jun 2005 - 17:55    Linda Haggstrom :
13 Jun 2005 - 18:43    Huntly Hashagen : theft and neutering of a fellow AKC member's dog is clearly prejudical to the interest of the AKC and the sport of purebred dogs
13 Jun 2005 - 18:49    Penny Spencer :
13 Jun 2005 - 19:10    DOLORES M. ECKHART :
13 Jun 2005 - 19:23    susa paige : unbelievable. This is outrages and by not confronting the issue head on, makes me wonder what the "new" AKC is all about. $?
13 Jun 2005 - 19:29    Michelle Scheanou : Is the AKC all about $$...I question this.
13 Jun 2005 - 19:59    Jaquelin K. Greene : I believe teh AKC needs to rethink this situation. Theft of a beloved pet, whether show, champion, or pet, warrants suspension at the very least - in my opinion they should be banned for life from membership.
13 Jun 2005 - 20:00    Joyce W.D. :
13 Jun 2005 - 20:23    Lisa Conley :
13 Jun 2005 - 20:24    Brendon Conley :
13 Jun 2005 - 20:29    Bea : If you dont like the decision that AKC made, well mabye we should all show them who AKC is, don't go to a show for 2 month, then they will see who is in power.
13 Jun 2005 - 20:33    Richard Winker :
13 Jun 2005 - 20:34    Salome D. Winker-LaRoche :
13 Jun 2005 - 20:37    Scott Bunker : The AKC has shown their true position with this decision; pathetic, passive, political.
13 Jun 2005 - 20:51    Linda Czado : AKC needs to suspend Clover Hedlund A.S.A.P. This is appauling!! I will send this petition to everyone I know that was considering AKC registration including myself. AKC needs to suspend Ms. Hedlund's priviledge's for life. Until then, AKC will NOT see the likes of me or my friends. Something will be done! DO YOUR JOB, AKC!!
13 Jun 2005 - 21:04    Shelley Owen :
13 Jun 2005 - 21:21    John Shoemaker :
13 Jun 2005 - 21:52    Diane Suman : The AKC is really losing its credibility with the dog fancy. This is not the first case of this kind of action, and the inability of AKC to take positive action against these people reprehensible.
13 Jun 2005 - 21:54    Doris Harrison :
13 Jun 2005 - 22:02    Karen Massey : I beleave AKC should suspened her membership for life. How can we trust that our dogs won't be stolen by this evil lady at future shows?
13 Jun 2005 - 22:17    Sherry :
13 Jun 2005 - 22:22    Marina Renee Lara, DVM : It is hard to believe that AKC can turn an eye on such a blatant act of misconduct. If this is true AKC board members should be embarassed to be seen in public.
13 Jun 2005 - 22:33    Sara Futh : Unless a person co-own3eed a dog and had reasons for not ewanting it used for breeding, they have no right to neuter the dog, adn thi is apparently NOT the case. - as for stealing it, sine the fact was roven in court, AKC should back that decision by suspension.
13 Jun 2005 - 22:37    Cindy Lowe : AKC, the premier dog club in the US, is muddying their status in the minds of both the public eye and that of dog fanciers by not standing behind their own rules. One would have to ask why? And while there could potentailly be several the one that comes to mind first is money. Its no wonder that we are losing both breeders and registrant's to other registries. If some other registry were to ever organize itself enough to start a show circiut, heaven help AKC.
13 Jun 2005 - 22:37    Rolan E. Anderson : Unless I am badly mistaken, AKC principles require action in a case as blatant as this.
13 Jun 2005 - 22:47    melissa white :
13 Jun 2005 - 22:59    Lynette Sylvester : The facts speak for itself. I am dissapointed with the AKC's handling of this situation.
13 Jun 2005 - 23:05    Barbara Jeleski :
13 Jun 2005 - 23:16    Christine Farnell :
13 Jun 2005 - 23:16    Mary L Ward :
13 Jun 2005 - 23:20    Suzanne Warfield : Wake up AKC! You're sleeping on the job. This is an obvious lifetime suspension
13 Jun 2005 - 23:26    Linda Sallee-Hill : If this is true-AKC, you need to do your job. You did not when my signature was forged and you did not follow thru with your rules - this is MUCH worse.
13 Jun 2005 - 23:29    Anne Petersen : Unbelievable!
13 Jun 2005 - 23:30    Ann Gilbert : I cannot believe that AKC would allow such a travesty to continue! This woman was convicted of FELONY theft of a dog - it that doesn't violate the AKC's purpose I don't know what will.
13 Jun 2005 - 23:32    F L Martin : If theft is not a reason to suspend, what is? PLEASE rethink your stand on this matter.
14 Jun 2005 - 0:02    CAROLYN WADDELL : AKC NEEDS TO RECONSIDER IT'S OPINION TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING IN THE FUTURE.
14 Jun 2005 - 0:15    Vicki Loucks :
14 Jun 2005 - 0:41    Shirley Schaffer : Holy smokes!! Sounds like the AKC has been neutered!
14 Jun 2005 - 0:52    Laura Malasig : In consideration of Clover Hedland's wrongful acts and the civil suit that is pending, it would be advisable for the AKC to rethink their position on the matter.
14 Jun 2005 - 0:56    Carolyn Crockett :
14 Jun 2005 - 0:56    Ann Musker : Theft of the dog alone should be an undisputed lifetime suspension of AKC priviledges of the offender, but neutering as well? Why should there be any doubt about what the AKC should do in this matter? By letting this go, is the AKC not setting a prescident for others to commit this very same crime in the future? Please look into this matter further, and I hope the AKC will come to the right decision.
14 Jun 2005 - 1:15    Toni Griffith : AKC should heed the courts suggestion and suspend Clover Hedlund, UNLESS they wish to appear in agreement with her actions.
14 Jun 2005 - 1:39    G CURRAN : HECK, YEARS AGO AKC SUSPENDED AND FINED ME FOR SIGNING THE CO OWNERS NAME ON ONE OF MY DOGS. THE CO-OWNER HAD VANISHED AND COULD NOT BE CONTACTED. SHE HAD BEEN INSTITUTIONALIZED AND HER DOGS NEGLECTED AND SHE WAS FOUND GUILTY OF ABUSE...THUS AKC SUSPENDED HER. I HAD NO KNOWLEGE OF THIS. I FESSED UP TO SIGNING HER NAME....YET STILL GOT MY HAND SLAPPED. AND HEDLUND IS NOT SUSPENDED???? HMMMM
