Jimmy Dwyer :
In the interest of Justice and the creditability of our wonderful Fancy, I,
along with many others, urge and petion AKC to reconsider their decision
not to aggressivly address Ms. Hedlund's wrongful actions. Please,
follow the Court's recomendation and suspend this disgraceful
person's privilages, forthwith. |

Stealing is a crime, Grand Theft is a serious crime. So Is AKC condoning
crime now? Suspend this woman for the crimes she has commited. |

I think that when our legal system can even recognize this woman's
actions as illegal, what is wrong with the AKC???

Jackie Bowen :
AKC has always been reputable. Please remain so. We look to AKC to uphold
the rights of those who have victimized. The A in AKC stands for
American!
Theft is not only illegal and punishable by law in America, but is not
going to be tolerated. |

I think AKC should not allow this woman to remain in the club knowing that
she commited these crimes, because if they allow this, what is next? And
remember your first decision on a matter influences further decisions. If
we allow people who go around stealing our dogs to remain in our club, it
is like we are saying it is ok to let them steal the dogs. And to neuter a
Champion? Do you want to keep the bloodlines by the standard or allow
anything as long as they have the money to buy papers? |

Unbelievable. This is so obviously against the interest of purebred dogs
that the AKS says they support. |

Liz Kaunzner :
This is outrageous!!! I have heard of cases were the AKC fined and
suspended people for things a lot less worse than something like this. I
have always felt safe with my dogs at a dog show, thinking that no one
would do something like steal my dog from me. I sure won't feel
safe anymore. And especially knowing the AKC won't do anything
about this!!!!!!!! |

I am apalled that this action has not been sanctioned by a lifetime
suspension of this felow participant in the sport of dogs. Other have been
given long suspensions for a less grievous offense. The AKC should follow
the court's recommendation since this action seriously threatens
the Sport of Dog and Dog owners. |

I was stunned to learn that AKC continues the membership of an individual,
who represents AKC as a breeder, that stole and sterilized a fellow
breeders pet/stud dog. By not suspending or perminent revoking her
membership you are sending the message that this is acceptable behavior. |

Why do you have rules and regulations in place if they are not intended to
be binding and enforced? The actions of Ms. Hedlund have gone past
allegations. She has been found guilty in a court of law for actions which
violate her agreement with the AKC to abide by the rules and regulations
necessary to be a member in good standing. Permanent suspension/revocation
is appropriate. |

I have always though that AKC was there to protect our DOGS. Thank GOD
that at least our court system reconized that steling/neutering the dog was
wrong but AKC can NOT see it that way. What is going to be next KILLING
our dogs. IT hapen to me years ago, it was a radical way to get rid of the
competition. At least in this case the dog was alive, I didn't
have that luxury. I think AKC should take a harder look at this case and
this person should be suspended. |

Others have been suspended for far less indeed, and if the AKC is to
"set standards" the actions taken here must be followed
through and not tolerated. This was a huge violation of everything held
dear; protecting breeds, this breed, in fact this dogs line - which is now
unable to continue as should this persons involvement with AKC. |

Celia Trimble Boone :
This is unconscionable--just as AKC allowing puppy mills to register dogs
is unconscionable. Please note: under AKC rules, if she had used neuticles
on the dog she'd stolen and neutered, she'd be suspended.
AKC has suspended people for years for banding teeth to correct bites,
using neuticles, etc. on their OWN dogs--but stealing another's dog
and wrongfully altering the dog is something that AKC will countenance?? |
| 435 |

This should not happen. This person should get everyting the law can do to
