WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, HEREBY PETITION the High Country Fire Protection District Board of Directors to continue to support the merger between the High Country Fire Protection District and the Colorado Sierra Fire Protection District, with the guidance of the Timberline Fire Authority in supporting the ultimate creation of the Timberline Fire Protection District.

WE STATE OR BELIEVE:
1. That the petitioners are members of the Timberline Fire Authority.
2. That the petitioners fully support the merger of the High Country Fire Protection District and the Colorado Sierra Fire Protection District into a combined district in a timely manner.
3. That the merger of the two districts is in the best interests of the firefighters in being able to quickly, professionally and with a higher quality of service and effectiveness respond to calls in the combined district.
4. That the merger of the two districts will result in significant benefit in: greatly increased firefighter safety; reduced response time to an incident due to having more firefighters and more stations available to provide response; increased number of firefighters and apparatus responding to an incident; increased effectiveness of incident command; and substantial improvement in the both the quality and efficiency of firefighter readiness and training.
5. That the merger is inherently logical in that the interests of the District(s) Tax Payers will be better served by a combined district than by having two separate districts, one being wholly within the boundaries of the other district.
6. That the petitioners have, over the past several months, personally observed that the leadership and the firefighters from the two districts can and have been able to effectively work together, resulting in a vast improvement in the quality of response and service provided to the citizens, property owners and visitors of the Districts.

I strongly support this petition. I encourage the HCFPD BOD to complete this merger with all due haste, taking into account the benefits to the property owners, tax payers, citizens and visitors of Gilpin County and portions of Boulder County.

I strongly support this petition and feel it would be a great dis-service to our community and we the fire fighters to disolve and throw away all the hard work many have put in to make this merger happen. Thank you, Eric C. Becker TIMBERLINE station 4

I support this petition. I urge the Board to rise above personal politics and narrow interests to consider what is truly beneficial to all citizens, including the firefighters.

I support this petition. Dissolving the JOA will silence a third of the pagers that go off right now. That cannot be a good thing for the residents of HCFPD.
