Terrible business decision by Aramark. He only broke the company policy and not any law. He was the face of expensive overprice beer buying at the Rogers Center, and at least the extra money is good for his entertainment. Hope he is reinstated.
I think they should bring back wayne however, Ontario is definately home to some of the most facist liquor laws this side of saudi arabia. I do understand the company's concern. Perhaps the outrage should be also directed to our outrageous liquor liability laws as well as the new smart serve legislation. The fact that companies are pretty well 100% liable if you buy liquor illegally is obsurd. If you are under 19 and buy liquor i consider that to be fraud esp if done with fake ID yet the buyer faces no consequences in ontario!
Let's not over-react here. Aramark is the company who runs the concessions at the Rogers Centre. Don't boycott going to the games!! Just boycott the purchasing of food products there, please. And Daniel Olma is right, you can bring your own food, as long is its neatly packed, and no glass or cans. BOYCOTT CONCESSIONS PEOPLE!!! NOT THE YOUR BELOVED BLUE JAYS!!!
I'm 23 years old and buy beer from the Skydome everytime I go to watch a game, which is every other week. And I'm barely ever carded! Mind you I am pretty tall and have a beard, but that doesn't negate that fact I'm still 23 and never get carded. Half the people selling beer there should be fired than!!
I'm not buying any concession products until this mans job has been reinstated. I think more people should boycott the concession! Did you guys know that you're allowed to bring your OWN food inside the SKYDOME! (Screw "Rogers Centre") Let's hit 'em where it hurts.
I MOST DEFINITLY support this petition. It seems a little abusurd and not to mention completely unprofessional to fire a man on the spot infront of crowds of people. Give him his job back! People clearly respect him or this kind of fuss would not be made!
Bring him back. He clearly is well liked among the fans, and probably brings a sense of recognition and home to those who visit the stadium on the lower levels multiple times a year. He was an icon among jays fans, and taking him aways was likely the worst move you could have made.
I support this petition. This guy has done less mistakes than the players on the field, who make a lot more and don't bare half the responsibility. Wayne belongs in the Hall of Fame one day, and what he has done is nothing compared to betting on baseball games that you're involved in.
Wayne McMahon, is a wonderful part of Blue Jays games. It is very sad to see him let go. If Aramark is going to be THIS strict about their "We ID 30 and under" rule perhaps they shold reconsider this rule or even reconsider selling beer at the Rogers Center or where ever else thier company sells alcohol. The Rogers Center has a 25 and under policy, perhaps this should also be taken into consideration.
I understand that these rules are in place for a reason, however, every rule needs some wiggle room. This punishment seems terribly harsh and very robotic. Isn't your goal to please customers? I have been served 2 beers many times, I bet I never will be again. Re-hire him and make us feel warm and fuzzy!
