It's not just limited to the lack of communication, the Wii also needs to drop friend codes. Universal Gamer Names would vastly improve their chances of a good online service.
Please Nintendo, without working voice communication for online play, your sales, not to mention a great amount of loyal fans will drop off of your radar.
The wii is totally unpowered. The wii needs wifi and all its games should look like Medal of Honor did. I think friend codes is stupid and why not just use gamertage? Is it more expensive?
I love the nintendo wii, but the only thing that is keeping me away from also getting a 360 is my high hopes for nintendos online service. So please give us some good VoIP features, that will really keep us we fans happy with out already great systems.
This is necessary to a successful online community in the US, especially in FPS and RTS games (Battalion Wars). This is limiting the gameplay aspect of these online games, and gameplay is the reason people bought the Wii over the 360 and PS3 in these past 6 months.
The Wii is Lacking online community features. Ok for a friend list, but how about a virtual friends town so you can build your own small community and discover friends of friends.
I've been a gamer for over 30 years and I rate the Wii very highly indeed. Please please give us VoIP, give us messaging, give us MORE services that utilise it's Bluetooth and Wireless connectivity!
I'm not too concerned about voice chat with anybody. At the most, I'll support voice chat with friends. What I do want, though, is voice chat in online co-op games, like Battalion Wars 2 (if it has online co-op, which it should). Otherwise, without voice chat in co-op games, how will your partner know what you want him to do?
Come on guys...we know you have it in you. You're Nin-freakin'-tendo, give it a whirl, even if you mess up we won't be mad. At least that way you're trying. People love Betas too, just string us along for a year with Betas so that we can have something by next summer. PLEASE!!!.!..!
then can get away with this on th DS i didnt really mind it, but for the Wii, its something special please try to add the online capabilities into your innovations. nintendo
Sending messages across wiis using the message boad is just unacceptabe. We would like talking to my friends.I just don 't see why it's not possible to have a wireless headset and talk to my friend while using other channels.
Please get rid of friend codes. Every day I go to the evrybody votes channel and send this messasge 'Do you like game specific friend codes' I dnot think it's fair that you sit bak and ignore your core gamers.I will gladly sign this petition if it means getting rid of friend codes for good!
I bought a wii the day it came out stood i nthe freezing cold for a while and everything but i just played the xbox360 Halo 3 beta in my cousin 360 and just the whole atmosphere of the voice communication made it feel worldwide and its hot and has made me considered getting one.
