Please for the love of God! Fire all of the commentators, especially Balboa and O'Brien. This is the most exciting sporting event in the World and you have ruined it.
Commentary has been just plain awful and a disgrace to fans of the sport. Granted you guys never broadcast soccer on a regular basis, can you guys at least get it right when you do?
sorry to say but ESPN announcers suck ass and please can we get more inetnse pregame coverage, maybe a couple of reapeats throughout the day. I would love for the games to be broadcast to more isp providers through espn360. what happend to covering the national anthems?
I support this petition because I have to watch the games in silence because the announcers don't know what they are taliking about. They just talk to hear their own voice. ESPN please learn how to say this name... STEVEN GERRARD! He's the best CM in the business and they don't know SHIT!
I couldn't agree more,the announcers are diabolical .They sound like they are in a closed room watching the game on television.I dont understand a word of spanish and I have hd,but I'm watching it on the it service just for the passion in their voices.
I have been appalled by the quality of the commentary on the world cup so far. Terms used, knowledge of the players (even the simple pronounication of some players names - the simplest task for a professional commentator has been terrible), and analysis has been atrocious. If the sport is to grow and bring more fans to the US this has to change immediately!!
as an Irish person I am totally insulted by some of the comments that the 'onion sack' idiot uses Someone should test him before he is let on tv because the mistakes that he makes is an embarassing reflection of your network
I'd also like to suggest that you stop putting graphics OVER THE FEED DURING THE MATCH, which has the wonderful effect of completely blocking the action...brilliant.
The number of commenting mistakes made during the first 16 games are unbelievable - it would be funny if it wasnt so irritating e.g. "Michael Beckham", "Chelsea who Barcelona beat in the European Final", "that was a good shit, sorry shot"
ESPN broadcasters are horrible, O' Brian is horrible, and Balboa is horrible, although i must say Eric Wynalda, Alexi Lalas, are excellent analyst. Blaboa and O'Brian are incredibly bias towards the USA and compare every team they cover to the USA.
