because, rather than simply describing the game, the ESPN/ABC announcers continuously felt the need to hype up interest in the game-- a game which already had our interest. Having listened to many EPL games, I was used to their announcers elequent, calm, straightforward description of the games events. In comparison, the ESPN/ABC announcers were just plain irritating.
I support this petition because Marcelo Balboa is a rambling idiot. He will criticize a player for doing something, then turn around and praise the same move thirty seconds later.

because the ABC/ESPN people are clueless. Balboa is a total idiot... no wonder the US public don't get it, they are fed nonesense whenever they do bother to watch. Drives me insane.
As a player, coach and referee, I have been appalled by the egregiously poor commentary on ESPN. Some don't understand the game and most don't understand the rules. (Including Tommy "handball" Smyth.)
I bet ESPN are so sorry now...they should of listened.

because you need commentators who realise what is going on, and do not bore you to death. I prefer watching Telefonica, even though I don't speak Spanish.
ESPN/ABC's coverage of the World Cup has been a farce and it's been an insult to those of us who follow the game. All of the sports coverage by this organization is going down the tubes.
JP Dellacamera & Harkes should have been #1 and a guy like Derek Rae or Phil Schoen would have been 100,000 times better than O'Brien. Davey O needs to stick to baseball
JP Dellacamera needs to learn that he is commenting on a TV event, not the RADIO. There is no need to talk as much as he does. It is disgusting, ignorant, annoying, and just plain idiotic.
The announcers, as expected, have been just awful. I've been watching games on Univision and I don't understand Spanish. Please employ someone who understands the game.

You have driven me to watch your competitor (Univision) and to miss ALL of the advertisements from your sponsers. It is sad that I prefer to listen to a language a I do not understand than to listen to your inept commentary. I would highly support a Derek Raye and John Harkes broadcast team and think you should consider this option in the future, perhaps that would persuade me to flip the channel back to your stations.
