Yeah i think to some extent it does sum up australia quite nicely. But its going to take a lot to convince the more mature liberal right wingers. But I'm sure if the youth of Australia can dominate the voting polls, I say hell YEAH!
I like it, its a look in to the future, motivational yet not assuming anything though the colours could do with work. Australia is constantly changing and we need a flag that will accurately reflect our spirit throughout, GO YEAH!
A new Australian flag should say
"I don't care about any thing but myself"
This sums up most Australian's attitudes towards both local and international issues.
It shouldn't say YEAH - it should say NO as our country is one of the most bigoted in the world. All the Corby supporters that criticise the Indonesian legal system need to remember that we burn the boats of their fisherman and they don't even get a trial.
We should also keep the Union Flag in any design as it was the Poms that gave us our country. I guess we could have the Stars and Stripes as the US now dictates our foreign policy and trade.
Lastly, the YEAH design really sucks and would make us look even more foolish in the eyes of the rest of the world.
I think it is definitely time to change our flag. The current flag is representative of a previous time, it no longer represents our country and its people as we are today nor does the current flag represent where we are heading.
The union jack definitely needs to go, people in their everyday Australian life have no real affilliation with the monarchy anymore, most Australians belive that we have no real ties with the monarchy as they play no 'real' role with everyday Australian people.

This flag accurately represents the direction Australia is heading. Representing all cultures and lifestyles of this diverse nation, this flag is truly something all Australians can look at with a proud Ocker look in their eye and say, Yeah...F@#k yeah...."
lol looks good. But i think we need something more serious stuff like the map of Australia broken into six states each representing something e.g WA a swan, bushland for Tasmania etc.
This flag only represents the sudden fascination with guys thinking its ok to wear pink shirts. I strongly support a flag change though, we need something Australian.
