We are asking for the resignation of the entire Board of Directors of the Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue (also known as YTNR Inc).

This action is being taken for a total lack of meaningful management for running a nationwide rescue.
Lack of communication, passion and a disregard for the inputs of its membership.
For the lack of openness in the meetings of the board of directors and its lack of two-communications with its membership.
For lack of accountibility in making the fiancial records available per law.
For a "totalitarian" style of management.

For the good of the organization, we ask all the board members to resign their positions.

"Let the people speak.Let them be heard!"

Hey everyone... how do I search for more than one word in other posts, so that it returns only posts with those two words?

I support this petition. This group is a sham. They not only do NOT provide proper vet care for the animals, they lie and cheat. Dogs come into the group and are never assigned a number, or get listed for adoption. What's happened to them? Foster parents are denied reimbursements on legitimate expenses. No matter how many times you ask, you will never be given an accounting of their funds. I've heard from other former members that the President pays her family for "services" they provide to the rescue. Isn't that interesting, since it's supposed to be all volunteers!

I have reconsidered and would like my name removed from this petition.

My dog had a torn tendon in her leg that needed surgery, and it ran nearly $2,000. YTNR is a private charity that gets moeny from adoptions and donations. Common sense tells you that if you only charge $150 - $400 for each adoption, you've got to get in a whole lot more money through donations. It would take a lot of donations to keep a group afloat if you get in many dogs with expensive vet bills. It makes sense that a group can't sink in thousands on one animal; there wouldn't be enough money left to take care of the others. I'm all for helping out dogs in need, but how can you help them if you go out of business because you sank too much money into a handful of really ill ones? Tough choices have to be made. It breaks everyones' hearts to do that, but it is necessary. I feel for the person who has to make that call.

I do not support this petition. I don't know the politics of which the detracting petitioners speak. However, I am a volunteer and I feel that I have been treated fairly, openly, and with respect. I feel that the dogs I have rescued have been treated with the humane spirit that I believe is analagous with that of a rescue organization. Those are the critical aspects, lest we lose sight....

It sounds as though the issues are accountability and euthanaia. There has to be an everyday decisionmaker in every organization and it's logical that Mary Elizabeth, who founded the organization, is President, sees the overall picture, should be it. You can't have a board decide the fate of every rescue. I was advised to put a dog down with a cancer history who was not elegible for adoption to the general public. I was treated more than fairly by ME, who waived the adotion fee on condition that I would take responsibility for his medical care. What could be more fair? If you folks who are dissenting don't like the way the organization is run, start your own.

This petition is garbage. Some of you have said you haven't been able to get a copy of YTNR's bylaws, then you accuse this group of not following them? How would you know if you haven't read them, D Delapa? I'm part of a 501 (c)(3) group, and having open meetings with the membership or providing the financial information to the membership is not part of them. Maybe some of you should get your facts straight before launching a smear campaign.

I do not support this petition. All I'm reading is half facts with nothing to support them. You people say you haven't been able to get an accounting, then you make accusations based on nonexistent figures? Well, which is it? Do you have facts, or don't you? If you haven't been able to get records, then what are you basing your claims on? Where there's smoke, there's fire? This is ridiculous. You all sound like a bunch of conspiracy theorists with too much free time. This sounds to me like a small group of people with a grudge who want to cause trouble. You call YTNR a bunch of bullies? How is defending yourself from unfounded, malicious statements like I'm reading here being a bully? They're not allowed to respond? You people are the ones who look like the bullies to me.

I do not support this petition. Time for a reality check here. The IRS gets a full accounting of all 501(c)(3) groups by law. No group would be able to not turn in a tax report; they'd be shut down immediately. Go ahead and contact the IRS; they'll tell you the same thing. You aren't entitled to an accounting. Do you own a business interest in YTNR? No, you are an unpaid volunteer, and no, they do not have to open their books to you, just to the IRS. Have you taken a dog to a vet recently? It can get very expensive without a whole lot medically wrong with a dog. What thousands of dollars are you talking about? Give me a break

I DO NOT support this petition. I have seen no evidence of any of the allegations. In the short time I have been part of the organization all I have seen and heard is caring and compassion from the members. I have yet to be asked to have one of my rescues put down, in fact was told that that rarely happens and the rescues are adopted as special needs. I feel the accusations are unfounded, malicious and revengeful due to a couple of members not getting their way.

I support this petition. I asked years ago for a yearly statement of funds, and was told it was none of my business. Where is all the thousands of dollars going to if dogs are being put down because too much money was spent. A 501C3 org is suppose to have its finacial records and taxes open for inspection. Last i heard no taxes were even filed for 2004. I too will contact the IRS to see what can be done.

I support this petition. I too have been burned by YTNR. I spent hundreds of dollars on rescues, only to be told by the president to have the dog put down because too much money was spent on it. What a horrible thing to be said by a rescue.

I support this petition. I have always wondered why so many people leave this organization after joining. You know where there smoke, theres fire. So, something must be going on for so many people to be leaving YTNR.

I support this petition. I have been dealing with YTNR for a very long time and I know what really goes on. I am glad someone else finally has stood up to the bullies in this organization. There are so many "puppets" that do not know the real truth. As the saying goes, "The Truth shall set you free". Dont be afraid to find out the facts, the REAL facts. ASK for an accounting of the funds, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE any! ASK for an accounting of the "Unaccounted" dogs that come into rescue, but are never assigned a rescue number, because they used for other reasons. ASK! ASK! ASK!

I DO NOT support this petition! This has to be the most absurd thing I have ever read. Looks to me like the person who wrote this has nothing better to do than start trouble. Plus you did not even have the guts to sign your name to it. Only a coward with a personal vendetta against someone would start something like this. You claim to be or were a YTNR member, so what happened did something not go your way? This is so sad…..If you do not like the way things are then just leave, rather than try to make others that work so hard and so tirelessly for this organization, and made it what it is today look bad. The true supporters of YTNR know better, so why don’t you go try to run some other organization, and leave this one alone. Why is there always one bad apple in a barrel of good ones? You, volunteer #2309 are one very rotten apple!

I DO NOT support this petition. THOSE FEW WHO STARTED THE PETITION SOUND AS IF THEY HAVE A PERSONAL VENDETTA AGAINST THE PRESDIENT OF THIS ORGANIZATION, AND ARE TRYING THEIR BEST TO DAMAGE HER ON A PRIVATE LEVEL WITH NEAR-SLANDEROUS REMARKS. I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY VOLUNTEER IS GIVEN A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF LEEWAY AND SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH COMMON SENSE TO KNOW WHEN THEY ARE NOT GIVING THE PRESIDENT ADEQUATE INFORMATION TO MAKE WHAT THEY DEEM TO BE THE CORRECT DECISION ON THE CARE OF A PARTICULAR DOG. MAYBE THEY HAVEN'T LOOKED IN THE MIRROR FIRST. ANOTHER OPTION - PAY FOR THE CARE YOURSELF, AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE OUTCOME. OH, AND JUDI DALPHOND, DON'T YOU THINK IT APPEARS SUSPICIOUS TO THE ORGANIZATION WHEN YOU REQUEST COPIES OF THE BY-LAWS AND FINANCIALS? IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE SOMEONE WHO'S LOOKING TO START TROUBLE. THIS BEGS THE QUESTION-WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO BE ASKING FOR BYLAWS? MOST ORGANIZATIONS KEEP COPIES OF THE BYLAWS FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ONLY, AND NOT THE GENERAL PUBLIC, AS IS MY EXPERIENCE WITH ANOTHER ORGANIZATION TO WHICH I AM THE VICE-PRESIDENT. AND, SUSAN, IF THERE IS NO MEANINGFUL INPUT BY THE MEMBERS, THEN I FEEL THAT'S THE MEMBERS' OWN FAULT. THE FACT THAT YOUR INPUT IS MEANINGLESS IS NOT THE BOARD OF FIRECTORS FAULT, IT'S YOURS!

I do not support this petition. This is a vibrant, cohesive, volunteer organization. If you do not want to support it, find another place to complain.
