First off allow me to say that I enjoy every minute that I spend in Utherverse. Obviously I must or I would not have partnered with Eld to open Club Surge.

I was excited as everyone else when I heard we could all own our very own Zaby apartment. I played with my Zaby on the QA server and I had a lot of fun with it.

Now here is the problem I am having with the Zaby apartments and why i am protesting them...

I feel that the Zaby apartments need to have limits on them so they do not cut the throats of the business owners in Utherverse.



I was outraged when I seen that I could...

Rent a Penthouse Zaby for a mere 300 rays per month

Have unlimited boot access to anyone on my friends list

Have UNLIMITED dims available for my Zaby with the max population being 50 avatars

Add any script that clubs have (drugs, sex, dancing)

Zaby owners can control their Zaby 100% (define house rules and permissions, customize interior)




As an owner of a business in Utherverse I....

Pay way more than 300 rays per month for the club

Have a very limited number of boot access accounts (charged extra per month for each extra boot access that I want)

Am charged more monthly rent for having the max of 32 dims available (Dim for each language and type as well as an extra fee to have a max population of 100 that is increased by Utherverse as needed)

Am not yet able to edit props within my club





The only bright side that I can see of this situation is
the fact that Zaby apartments...

Do not have street access

Are only available if the Zaby owner is online

Are not open 24/7 like businesses

Makes it next to impossible to meet new people. Only those on your friends list or public who are standing in front of ypu can click to go to your Zaby. So once you are in the Zaby no new members can access you





As I stated earlier the Zabys are a great idea but they need some limits such as.....


Only 1 dim per Zaby

Max population of say 2 for small apartments, 5 for mediums, 10 for large and penthouses

No dancing scripts in Zabys (that what the clubs are for)

Only the owner should be able to boot from the region

The region should close when the owner leaves that region just as our dims close when the last person leaves that particular dim

Update: All of the Zaby Apartments are now listed as only one diminsion per Zaby.

Before they were listed as unlimited diminsions.

This still does not solve the issues for the business owners when it comes to generating revenue to pay for the clubs.

Why rent a club for a party when you can get a Zabythat holds 50.

Why rent a monthly dim from a club for your group or family when you can get a Zaby that holds 50.

With no club revenue we cannot be expected to pay for the club out of our own personal pockets!

Okay I can see going with a minimum of 3 avatars in a dim

Dancing wouldn't be so much of an issue IF the dim populations were greatly limited

The reason why I stated that the Zaby should close if the owner leaves is for several reasons

1. If I have a Zaby for 50 people I can go open it, invite some friends then leave. The friends can keep the Zaby opened until they all leave. By having the Zaby close once the owner leaves this will at least offer some more protection to the business owners. Besides a Zaby is supoposed to be like your home. If you are at my hose and I leave... you are leaving too!

2. Why should the Zaby remain open at all times if the owner is not present yet our club dims close when there are no avatars (exception being the main diminsion)

The issue of someone getting constant boots is not really that much of an issue anymore like how it used to be.

Another thing I thought of with the boot access...

A Zaby owner can specify rules for boot access.

You can choose to only allow the owner to boot, friends to boot, or public to boot. Or deny friends and public to boot.


Why can't the business owners specify that per dim?

It would be nice if we could specify which staff can boot as well as specify who can boot from each dim. (dim renters)

MizBratt isa*****: I'm going to agree with this petition with a few reservations. I LOVE MY ZABY! I've been addicted to my Zaby in QA for weeks and can't get enough, but that said, I understand the club owners concerns. I don't think we should be able to hold monster parties in our Zaby's. I think a group of 10 at most should be allowed in at one time. I agree with the boot time allowance of 10 minutes for owner to return, because I know that if I got booted in the middle of "the moment" and not only had to sign back on but had to wait for my partner to get back to my place as well, that would double **** (pardon the pun). But please club owners, we don't want to take your buisness away... I love the clubs and I'm not going to go away from my Temptations to spend all my time in my Zaby. Dancing the night away is too damn fun. But I don't believe the "families" in here should be able to rent a Zaby for 300 rays a month and take that revenue from the clubs... come on guys and gals... support your local buisnesses, they've been there for you, be there for them! OK... that's my two cents!

Just to clarify to all the people that are thinking that I am worried about people never coming into a club again....

THAT is NOT my concern!

I know people who love the clubs will come in and have some fun and we appreciate them greatly!

The point I am trying to make is that the people who come to the clubs as just a visitor doesn't pay our bills

It's like owning a restaurant and everyone comes in to just talk and not order anything off the menu

The clubs rely on the support of families who rent our monthly dims and the people who like to throw a occasional party here and there

It is THOSE people that we worry about losing! The ones who "order off the menu"

Clubs cant pay their bills if people don't "order off the menu"

The clubs were designed and customized with all the patrons in mind.

If we get people in the door and they like what they see then they "order off the menu"

Club Surge was designed to offer families and the general membership something new and unlike anything that anyone else has in Utherverse. Therefore it has a greater overhead involved then some other clubs and the Zaby apartments... that is why clubs HAVE to charge what they do to rent a monthly dim to a person or family.... therefore we need people "ordering off the menu" to keep the doors open.

Dan Sk8tan71 Counts: I do support the petition...but there are some other solutions that I think would help out just as much...the main thing is that there is a very concern of financial blowback for the owners, so I would suggest the following: 1) The RLC server has always been dodgy enough with the additional strain and traffic of the Zaby's RLC needs to lock down the Zaby where it can only be edited once or twice a year. 2) Give the club owners the ability to rent out their dims and allow the renters to customize the dim also allow the club owners to rent out rooms at a premium that allow the renter to customize the room as often as they want...or have a setup where the renter can save configurations like clothing and can change the look on a whim. 3) Allow the club owners to go out and sell banner space to other companies that want to have a presence in the Utherverse but do not want to incur the cost of a store front and the owner can sell the space based on the traffic in the dim the banner is sold in. 4) Allow club owners to create repriocity agreements with other websites to generate more traffic in both directions...granted RLC is going to be a greater recipient of the extra traffic and downloads...but when people first sign up they are going to go the club that drew them in so it is going to create more traffic for that club and greater chances of revenue for the club owner. This way the club owners can generate more traffic and money not only for themselves...but also for RLC.

I am liking some of these ideas!

Let the club owners have the same opportunity as with the Zaby!

If we had unlimited "bare copies" of our clubs that we could sell to the genral public and allow them to customize it like they do with their Zaby then we could afford to lower our prices for rent because we could reach more people and not be limited to having 31 dims (other than the main dim) to rent out.

One thing though... Eld and I paid for custom furnishings to be placed in our club... and those items should not be made available for the general public to use in their copy of the club. Custom items should be placed in the original club only as part of an attraction for those who do not own copies of clubs to want to come to ours.

Basically the person would be buying a stripped down version of the club they like the best.


I also like the idea of selling advertising in the main club to outside clients.

Another point I just thought of with the "copies of clubs" is that the person who purchased the club copy would have full control of the area just as with their Zaby.

Renters have long been wanting things in the dims they rent i.e. boot access. Just the other day I had a dim renter ask me about more seating. If they owned their own copy they could place as much seating as they needed according to their needs.

I think this is one if the best solutions thus far.

But until a permanent solution is found I think Utherverse and business owners need to reach a happy median so nobody suffers (Utherverse, club owners as well as general membership.)
