This breaks my heart. We are teaching our children that this kind of thing is ok. This is not ok. This leads to bigger issues. Look at cat/dog fur/food farming in China. They have their children doing it. Please end this, we need to re-install our ethics back into ourselves, our children, and future lives.
I support this petition because this is just wrong.After all of what horses have done for us we can atleast let them live their life to the fullest without being slaughtered.I believe if a horse is sick and there is no cure for it THEN I can see if he/she was to get put down.
My agreement to sign this petition is souly based on my personal oppion that animals should be valued almost as equals to humans and so it would be like a holoucost to slauter them. They are welcome members of many familys across the world. Slotering them is the same as putting your mother, father, brother or any other family member in great danger and watching while the were violently mutalated than put to an agonizing death. I support this petition because I don't think people should be able to sacrifice the lives of a creature that has been domesticated for over 45million years just so that people could try some Sausisson du Cheval! I support this petition because there is no reason to double cross a creature that has been loyal to humans for as long as any of us can remember. A horse is a domesticated animal just like a dog or cat, it is your pet. There is absoulutley no reason why an animal that can serve so many purposes be treated in such a inhumane way. Even if a horse has been injured or not able to uphold to competition does not mean it should be rid of in such a terrible and unnessacary way. There are so many more options than sending your loyal pet to a slaughterhouse. There are many young children in need of a slower horse to learn on and bond with. There are also many thearapuetic methods that can be done with horses to help people with disabilities. You may not know it but that horse could be saving that persons life. Horses have always been loyal to us so now its time for us to stand up for them.

I am sadden to think that a cultre which calls it self advaced could allow such a things to happen. Horses have made many great sacrfices for the human race and thourgh out history we have let them down on our half of the bargin. I support this petition. Horses rock and it is wrong to kill them. Cows, pigs, and chickens aren't used for anything productive, exept food, but horses are used for alot more. My friends parents just sold her horse to a guy who is taking him straight to a slaughter plant. All he needed was a little training. He hadn't even been trained yet.

Even though I do support this petition, I don't quite agree with everything. If people are going to say the slaughter of horses is repulsive, they must be prepared to say the same for the slaughter of cows, calves, pigs, chickens, turkeys, sheep, lambs, and goats. Horse slaughtering is mean! They keep the horses in knee deep water, miserable with little or no food! Then they KILL them for... what? We are already killing cows, why can't we use THEIR hooves? Horses dont need to be in dog food, COWs can! Even though any kind of slaughtering is cruel, cows are a important part of our eating habits!

I have never eaten a horse, nor do I plan to. It seems wrong to me to eat a horse, when some people ride them. I have been close to horses before, and I know they are more human like then they seem.

However, I do have one thing to say here, but take no offense. Why is it that people can be so compassionate about one type of animal and hate another? When we hear about someone drowning kittens we are disgusted, but later in that same day we casually stomp on ants and hit flies with flyswatters. I believe that if someone is going to sign a petition like this, they first need to have compassion not just for the one animal they are trying to save-horses, in this case-but for all animals. So what I am asking is why aren't people as affected when they see horrible stock farms where cows are so close together they can hardly move, or chickens kept in cages in barns their entire lives that never get to see the sky? I've gotten to know and become great friends with an Appaloosa mare of my cousins's very recently, who while under the "care" of her previous owner was subjected to starvation. It's not difficult to see the limp in her back legs which is also a consequence of her former "care." She is rather old, and I do my best to make her life comfortable and peaceful. I most heartily agree this base practice along with horse abuse in general should be stopped.

Dogs should be killed instead of horses. Horses sometimes look pretty, but they are useless in this day and age, but dogs are worse, so if your going to kill an animal, kill a dog, but do it slowly, and painfully. I was attacked by a dog as a kid and I was inflicted with a great many scars. A few years ago I found that the same dog had not been put down. Even have having attacked a child. The dog was quite old but I took the dog from the owners back yard and broke all his legs out in the forest, I then cut his throat, with no remorse.

I love the taste of horsemeat. It is very good. I like to eat my horsesteak with horse testicles. I love the sounds that the horse makes when I am slitting it's throat. I slaughter horses for fun to eat them. Horses are useless creatures now that we have the automobile. I guess their good for adventure seeking yuppie scumbags and cattle ranchers rich polo players the amish and third world country cowboys. But seriously do any of those people matter and do horses matter I understand the cultural and historical significance of horses but progress is meant to be made. last week i got a new horse head to hang on my wall downstairs, i hung it from a tree with a chain and my jeep, then loosened the noose to rip the head off by pulling it through a fork in a tree just down the road, this method works GREAT
