What is with everyone tinking cheerleaders are airheads? I'm a cheerleader and I am so not dumb. Ok, maybe I am a little preppy, but I'm not oblivious with whats going on around me.

i have been cheering since i was 7 years old and im 17! i have been cheering for school and i do comp just because u cheer dosent make you stupid i have straight a's in all my classes!! what people dont realize is that 2 b able to cheer at school you have to have good grades!! some people are just sooo jealous that they have to make stuff up to make them feel better

It takes alot to be a cheer leader i havnt been cheering that long but ive been a competition cheer leader for two years now and its a very difficult sport but no one sees that no one takes us seriously

because you are completely right. cheerleaders have their own personalities and anyone can be stupid... they just pick on the cheerleaders... and thats not right. the whole cheerleaders being airheads is just some sterio- typical saying that everybody goes along with. and i can say this because i am a cheerleader and i have a 4.0 average in college and graduated top of my class... so if anyone else wants to say an ything.. then they can go check their test scores and kiss my ass.

personally i have no idea what any of you are talking about! i have never seen a cheerleading squad,talked to a cheerleader or sat next to one or even been in the same city as one let alone the same country! i live in a country where cheerleaders don't exist i have a little idea of what they are ment to do and the only thing i have been told about them is that they are bitchy and preppy and i don't no what preps are too? so i don't no anything different. sorry if this offended you by saying you bitchy but thats what i got told and its not like i can ask a cheerleader!!!!!! i don't no what they are!!!

I support this petition. It is funny though Katie got mad claiming she has a 4.15 gpa then gets upset because they spell something incorrectly, yet she uses bad grammer. Funny how that works. Each person is an individual. Yes some cheerleaders are air heads but so are many other people. Society puts a sterio type on someone because that is what they are comfortable with. It's more of a personal experience rather than society as a whole that can decide what you think of a cheerleader.

I support this petition, because im a cheerleader and im really good in school and i have to have really good grades in order to do it so im not stupid and im not an airhead cause what me and my team do we work hard and we are good at what we do if you dont like us its because your jelouse of us so back off!!!!! lol jk

I agree. I am a cheerleader with a 4.15 GPA. However, if I were writing a petition about cheerleaders no being airheads, I would at least spell check it first. (You spelled "thinking" incorrectly.)

We're all forgetting something. The smart people aren't necessarily the ones that make the straight A's, but rather, the people that make some sort of difference in the world. From my perspective, cheerleading has no impact on the majority of the world. I'm sure there is some small percentage of cheerleaders that go on to be big corporate CEO's, or writers, or influential thinkers, but for some reason, I doubt it. Daddy's money tends to make you lose interest in a real life.

Erm, I don't check my grammar but I do use the backspace button. There is one... o_0 If you were smarter, you would know that this petition would do nothing but start arguments. Do you expect people to respect cheerleaders now? When I read this petition, I realized you're just another sensitive cheerleader. If this was going to annoy you so much that you would start a petition you shouldn't have joined the squad in the first place. Second, do you really think the mayor is going to notice this and make insulting cheerleaders a no-no? That he would make a law about it? Nope, you're not that important. Just stupid.
