The off-leash law should be extended indefinitely. Dogs off-leash during designated hours, provide an important deterent to crime in our parks, especially Central Park. Moreover, a well-exercised dog is a healthy dog!
Dogs are a big part of NY and a happy addition to our parks. Please keep the off-leash policy and allow our pets to get the exercise they need and the socializing they love. This is a good policy for all our citizens.
In a city where dog owners need space, this amazing off leash has given my 2 mii rat terriers an opportunity to run off that hyper energy and socailize with other dogs and people. Please do not take this away from the responsible NY'ers!
Please formalize the off-leash policy and give NYC dogs and their owners the right to let their dogs off-leash in designated areas. It is good for New Yorkers of all races, colors, and creeds and contributes to the quality of life for the residents of the city that own a dog. We always are respectful of those non-dog owners and that is why we rely on these limited but important off-leash hours and runs.
