Most New York Dogs are nicer than New York People! Exercise and socialization is just as important to Dogs health as it is to peoples. They bring a lot of joy and happiness to the parks, to their owners, and to the many friends who stop to say hello. Give us all a break and do the right thing please.
I think they should extend the hours until 11AM especially in the winter when there are few people in the park as well as increase the dog parks like California did
The current arrangements are safe, effective and meet the needs of dogs and their owners without harming anyone else since the time period overlaps with the hours of least park use by others.
I've lived in this city 43 years without owning a dog and still think the off leash privilege is indispensable. I can't understand how it is even up for debate.
It is so important that owners and dogs have to opportunity to bond off leash, expecially in the city. Please do not take this enjoyment away from both owners and dogs.
